Hello my bookish friends!
Today I’m happy to introduce a brand-spanking-new meme and I hope you will join the fun!
The ultimate goal is to discover books that we might have not noticed before, and the concept is very easy!
- You choose a book you’ve read, loved and would dare your readers to read!
- The book you choose must be an older release (at least 6 months ago), because let’s be honest, we’re all quite aware of the latest releases.
- Write your own blog post, using the button and linking back to Tynga’s Reviews, inviting your readers to read your chosen book.
- Come back on Tynga’s Reviews and put your link in the linking tool.
- Browse other bloggers Dare and let them know if you’ve read their featured book, or plan on reading it.
- Super easy and an awesome way to discover that special book who might have slipped off your radar!
Now here’s the book I choose!
It was original released on October 1st 2008, and it really stands out from the masses.
I choose Graceling by Kristin Cashore.
Graceling takes place in a medieval era where Kings are gods and dictators. In this strange world some kids wakes up one day with eyes of two different colors, they are Gracelings and they are feared by their pairs. A Grace can be as insignificant as swimming or cooking abilities, but some like combat skill and mind-reading are seeked by Kings to exploit.
The heroes, Katsa and Po are truly amazing and their passion and determination shines through the pages, and I promise your heart will skip a few beats a couple of time in this action filled fantasy novel.
Everyone who’s read that book after my recommendation liked it so I’m daring you to give it a try!
You can read my review HERE.

ReplyDeleteTynga - Graceling is one book I've been meaning to read, yet haven't yet. We have it in our school library, so I should give it a go.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I've tried to enter the giveaway, but can't seem to do it - I'm a follower (for a long time), I did my post on the meme! (fun) and posted about the giveaway.
Help! :) I'm not very computer form savvy.
Graceling and the rest of the series are fantastic. These are very good reads with very intelligent story lines.

ReplyDeleteI just read this last month and it was really fun! I bought Fire last week.

Thanks for the recommendation, I'll put it on my list.
ReplyDeleteTynga, I really like the sound of this new meme and will introduce me to a lo of new reads. Here's mine: Daring You To Read: Cover of Night by Linda Howard.

This meme sounds great. I hope I'll be able to do my post soon (:
ReplyDeleteLuckily I just bought Graceling today (in Hebrew)so I going to read it soon!
Great idea for a meme - love it!
ReplyDeleteAlso...
Woops, accidentally entered my twitter entry as the "mention the giveaway" entry in the Rafflecopter. You may want to moderate that. ;-)
This is a great idea for meme! I loved Graceling when I read it last year and I think you've inspired me to reread it as soon as I've finished trudging through my current book :)
ReplyDelete@Hanna I should really reread it!
ReplyDeleteTynga - I think I figured it out, finally. I was on your blog (not the google reader) and STILL couldn't do it - I didn't realize that I had to actually click on the now obvious to me green buttons. LOL - That's what I mean by not being very computer friendly - there are little things I don't notice sometimes. LOL. So I finally entered, thanks. I also meant to say, that I like the new version of Graceling's cover. It's different than the copy we have in our school library.
ReplyDeleteThis cover is the UK edition ^^ It's the one I own =)
ReplyDelete*SQUEE!* Darling this is such a wonderful idea!!!!!! Would me making a post tomorrow be too late? I've been busy all day and yesterday with midterms etc :(. *HUGS!* I looooove it!!! Definitely will participate next week!!!
ReplyDeleteI finally got a chance to get my post written and up. Woohoo.
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm so sad: my library doesn't have an audiobook version of Graceling. I was so hoping it would. How can they have an audiobook version of only one of the books in the series? Boo.
Not too late Lucy =)
ReplyDeleteSara- Graceling & Fire were published with different publishers, that might be why.
i'll try 2 do this 2 times a month
ReplyDelete@roro Awesome! THanks for joining us =)
ReplyDeleteMy post is up! :D
ReplyDeleteWill have to check this book out!
ReplyDeleteI like the idea of this, Tynga! I've heard a bunch of great things about Graceling, and I've owned a copy of it for a long time, but I still haven't gotten around to reading it. I need to pick it up soon!
ReplyDeleteI really do like how you specify that we should choose a book that has been released at least 6 months ago. It's a great way to stir up some buzz for titles that we missed out the first time around!
Glad you like the concept Natalie! I think sometimes we are too focused on recent releases and books to come, I though it's be great to give those books we loved so much a second life ^^
ReplyDeleteGreat new meme! It's so excited to revisit the books we love and not just the ones we're looking forward to reading.
ReplyDeleteRachel @ The Rest Is Still Unwritten
Hi Tynga Unfortunatly I do not have time to do this challenge because lets face it I work far too many hours to do something as silly and enjoyable as reading but I wanted you to know I will be plastering your link and your challenge all over the pages of Syndenial.com and I hope that my readers take you up on it. Good luck and AWESOME idea. :)
