Fan made Insurgent Cover
Abigail over at All Things Urban Fantasy is having a re-create cover contest for Insurgent by Veronica Roth and it’s been a long time since I did some fan art so I jumped right on the occasion! I have to admit, I went a little overboard and in my enthusiasm, I created four covers… Let’s pretend it’s to honor Four, shall we? *grin*

Contest Craze- Mini Challenge #3 + Fan Art
I finally get to participate in a mini-challenge. YAY! (the other ones where US only)
For this challenge we need to write the synopsis for a sequel we wish were written. It cannot be a sequel for a book that is already “planned to exist” if that makes any sense.
For example you couldn’t right a sequel for the third book in the Hush, hush series, because it’s already planned.
I choose to write the synopsis for book #7 in the Shifters series (the final book is Alpha) and it would be called, Fierce.

Faythe won an important battle but the war isn’t quite finished yet.
Sure eliminating Malone makes things a lot more easier, but she still has to prove her worth to his old followers and fight her way in a male’s world. With Marc and Jace by her side, she will set precedent in a macho culture but not everyone is happy about that. Territories are getting restless and strays are fighting to claim a place in werecat society.
Still mourning Ethan and her father, Faythe isn’t done suffering just yet. One of the most important werecat rule was broken when their existence was revealed to Holly and now there will be a price to pay for this crime punishable by death.

I chose the Olsen twins because I wanted girls who looked alike to personify Lena (Mary-Kate Olsen) and Ridley (Ashley Olsen). I have to say I am proud of the eyes lol

Fan Art: Taken by the Others
I don’t know if you’ve seen the cover reveal for Taken by the Others by Jess Haines yet, but there is a bit of, I’ll say controversy for lack of better word, around it. The general feeling is that it doesn’t meet reader’s expectations, so I decided to created my own cover, while keeping the general feel of the original one, here’s what it looks like! (left one is original, right one is mine)
I would like to have your thoughts! Also while the cover isn’t very attractive, the first book in the series Hunted by the Others was really good (you can read my review here). So I really hope the cover won’t stop you from purchasing the book, because you’d be missing on something great =)

Amazing Covers!
It never ceases to amaze me how many fantastic covers are out their, and I have to say the young adult covers are particularly awesome. I joined here some of my latest favorites, and I’m sure you’ll agree with me, I can’t wait to get my hands on them!

First stop, Rachel Vincent just revealed the UK covers of the Soul Screamers series. I really like them, I might even prefer them to the US ones, I’m not sure lol
they even respected the color scheme of the US covers, which is great! They will be available in 2011!

I haven’t been able to find much of a description for this book. All we know as of now is that it will be released on March 15, 2011 and this short description:
When Jill, a competitive high school fencer, goes with her family on vacation to the Bahamas, she is magically transported to an early eighteenth century pirate ship in the middle of the ocean.
You’ll agree with me though, even with so many words it does sound amazing!

The Candidates, first book in the Delcroix Academy series, by debut author Inara Scott will release on August 24, 2010. This book is about a telekinetic young girl and I can wait to read her story!
