Shadow's Seduction sit somewhere between a short story and a full length novel and I wish it were actually a full novel. I understand though, with the book being m&m, that Kresley Cole decided to make it a short non-mandatory story within the overall Immortals After Dark story arc. Not everyone is willing to read male to male romance and I have to admit it was a first for me. I've never been incline to pick up such book before but since I love this series so much I decided to give it a shot. Did I enjoy it? yes. Will I pick up more books from this genre? Probably not, unless it's part of a series I already love.

The reason why I wish it were a full length novel is because I felt things were rushed at time. The shory started VERY abruptly with Caspion and Mirceo being at the same brothel and all of a sudden, totally randomly, Mirceo is entranced by Caspion and decided he wanted to have him (Mirceo is bi, but Caspion is straight). It really felt completely out of blue because of the lack on context, and background story. You literally jump right into that scene and it's how everything starts. You then fast forward to how they eventually became good friends but you don't witness it, and I honestly wish we did. Eventually it gets better and we live events right by their sides, and Cole is usually really good at getting you engrossed in a story and I think the shortness of this novella is what limited Cole in developing those events.

I really loved their stories though with how eccentric Mirceo is, how volatile his actions are but how dedicated he is to Caspion and how determined he is to prove him he can be the man he needs. Whereas Caspion is living in total denial of his growing feelings for Mirceo. He does not what to be gay (or bi) and exiles himself for hundreds or years hoping it'll go away. He grows hard, stubborn and hateful and at some point Mirceo's good mood rubs on him and everything changes. Their life-altering courtship was really great and I wish we got to see more of them when they finally committed to each other.

Reading this novella I thought the next book would be about Bettina because of events taking place and I was really surprise to see the story is about two completely different characters. Hopefully we will find out what happens to her (or maybe we already did in a past novel and I forgot??).

In conclusion, I really enjoyed this story and I would recommend it. If you are homophobic then this might not be the book for you. There are graphic scenes of sex between two male in this novel.

Dreams of a Dark Warrior by Kresley Cole

What could be worst than seeing your soul-mate die in your arms again and again? It's the hand Regin The Radiant was dealt when she fell for mortal Aidan the Fierce. She wasn't quite in love yet, but cared deeply for him, and after a night a weakness, when he claimed her in passion, he died in her arms, killed by a dreadful vampire. He loved her body and soul, and swore he'd come back to her. And he did, only to die in a similar fashion every time. Regin is now determined to stay away from her dear Aidan because she can't handle the pain anymore. This reincarnation of Aidan have very different plans for her though...

Another awesome installment in the Immortals After Dark series! Kresley has never been wrong for me with her adult titles (surprisingly I don't really like her YA), and Dreams of a Dark Warrior was another success. This title was a bit different because the hero is actually a bad guy. And I mean, a REALLY bad guy. He is a leader in an organization bound to destroy all Lorekind, and when he captures Regin, it's not to sweet talk her into bed. He does (or commands) unspeakable things to all paranormals, and Regin was no exception. I liked how believable his journey was, and if I had been in the place of Regin I would've told him too little, too late dude! But I guess that Valkyrie is more forgiving than I lol. I actually pitied him in the end, and he worked really hard to earn redemption, so I must give him credit for that.

Regin was radiant *snickers* no seriously, the girl was really shining through with her spunky personality. I loved that she was determined to do the right thing, even if Aidan (named Chase in this reincarnation) was awful. I loved how she kept her head held high in even the worst situation, and has a fierce desire to protect her loved ones. Her interaction with her roommates was fun and endearing and her respect for her berserk ally was commendable.

The plot all takes place in the same location and it's quite a feat to keep things interesting in such a limited location. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time, wondering when Chase would give in and remember Regin, or if she would give up and sacrifice him yet another time. The tension between them was excruciating, and that's without mentioning the unbearable sexual electricity. I was wondering when they would jump each others' bones.

One of the aspect I like about Kresley's book is that the time lines on each novel overlap. This story takes place in the same time frame as Demon From the Dark and Pleasure of a Dark Prince. Since Lothaire played a big role in the novel, I am guessing "Lothaire" - the novel, will overlap some as well. I think it keeps things interesting and it's refreshing because it's different from any other series I've read.

Dreams of a Dark Warrior was a very satisfying read, and if you haven't started this series yet, I must ask you, What are you waiting for???

Demon From the Dark by Kresley Cole

Another passionate novel in an amazing series! Immortals After Dark is my favorite paranormal romance series out there, and I'm glad to say Kresley Cole delivered once again a page-turner.

This time around, we witness the growing relationship between Carrow, a rebel witch who's been kidnapped and pressured to recover a vemon, and said venom (demon turned vampire), Malkom. I think what I liked most were the numerous and virtually unbeatable challenges they had to face in their relationship. The biggest one being the language barrier. Carrow speaks English, and understand very little demonish. Malkom on the under hand used to know a little English, but due to dire circumstances, he forced this language out of his brain and speaks only demonish now. It's one hell of a barrier to overcome, especially when all the psychologists agree that communication is the key to a lasting relationship lol

There's is also a small detail like the fact that Carrow is suppose to seduce him so she can drag him back to the human facility holding her adopted daughter in hostage. How can you get involved in a relationship doomed from the start? Especially since Malkom seems to be such a careless brute, all seven feet of him. The Demon also bears numerous psychological traumas and Carrow can only glimpse the tip of the iceberg. The poor hero has been betrayed once and again and trust doesn't come easy. I thought it was smart of Cole to put Malkom in a position where he had to trust Carrow, when her intentions are to betray him from the start. Her moral debate was even better when she realized she was starting to have feelings for him but knew deep down it wouldn't change the outcome.

Cole's writing was as usual extremely engaging and I kept turning pages late into the night. I liked that plot events kind of split the timeline of our hero's relationship in three: The pre-betrayal romance, the actual betrayal and anger, and the possible reconciliation. The whole novel was a roller-coaster of emotions and I enjoyed myself very much! 

The conclusion promises much action in the novel to come because the situation in which Carrow and Malkom found themselves is far from settled, and I'm extremely curious to see what comes next.

Pleasure of a Dark Prince by Kresley Cole is the ninth book in the series and it’s always a pleasure to come back to these characters that have grown on me overtime. This particular novel’s storyline actual starts before the events of the first book (where Lachlain meets Emmaline) and I enjoyed reliving these moments from a new perceptive. It’s also quite funny because while I was reading Garreth’s story, my mom was reading Lachlain’s story, so we were both reading the same time period in the series from different perspectives. This story takes place over the course of over a year, thus many books in the series, and I always appreciate the intricate way miss Cole weaves her stories together.

I particularly liked this instalment because even though it’s never a done deal for Cole’s characters to be together, this couple faced the biggest challenges thus far. Garreth will suffers indescribable pain in hopes to claim his mate, promise the moon to Lucia (in a no-sex way), even submit himself to witch magic (which he despise), all with the tiniest hope that she will accept him. He suffers for over a year for her and I can’t help but bow to his strength and determination. Don’t get me wrong, Lucia isn’t torturing him for pleasure, but she is on a mission to stop the apocalypse and giving in to earthly pleasure could mean the end of the world. She remained strong in a quest to save the world and face her own nightmare and her pride wouldn’t allow her to seek help. I never particularly cared for her in previous books, and I came to like and respect her in this novel. 

The plot proved to be engaging and fast-paced, as usual, and I liked that Kresley Cole took us to mystical parts of the Amazon. The original scenery helped bring an exotic feeling to the novel, it’s like I could almost feel the heat. The whole set-up exudes a strong India Jones and Lara Croft feel as our hero set on a quest to recover a magical weapon. The conclusion was also highly surprising and I never foresaw the story enfolding the way it did.

On a side note, I must mention my undying love for Nyx. She is packed with awesomeness and really, as amazing as Kresley’s books are, it wouldn’t be the same without her craziness. I say this every review of this series, but I can’t wait for her to have her own story, or even her own POV in one of the coming books, so we can finally get a glimpse of what’s going on in that head of hers!

Immortals After Dark is by far one of my favorite paranormal romance series and I must urge you to give this series a try. It’s thrilling, engaging, smoking-hot and has an healthy dose of humour. It is bound to please you!

Untouchable is Kresley Cole’s story from Deep Kiss of Winter and I decided to review it separately because it’s 300 pages long, so almost novel length, and I’m not up to date with Gena Showalter’s alien series so it’ll be a while before I read her story.

Cole’s story really hit home with me, not only because the love story is great – as usual – but because it completes previous novels. See, Untouchable happens over the course of books 3, 4 and 5, and intertwine with them. I always like to have the other side of a story, so Untouchable filled my need to always know more! At the beginning of the story, Murdoch and Nikolai are searching for their long lost brothers, and has the romance develops, Murdoch also find his brothers. I truly enjoyed the double intrigue, even though I already knew the outcome of the second one, it was nice to discover tidbits not revealed in the previous novels.

A new race, the Icere, also make an apparition in this novel. They are being of ice, living in a mythical place and need cold – extreme cold- to survive or they die from thermal shock. Every touch burn them, and poor Danii is their long cast-away Queen. The no-touching policy wrapped the romance between the main characters in originality but also irony since Murdoch had been such a lover in the past.

I enjoyed the rollercoaster ride Kresley Cole offered us and the whole time I wondered how the lovers would make it work. I also relished the presence of Nix, my little favourite. I really can’t wait for her to have her own book and finally get to understand what happens in that head of hers! She’s simply amazing!

I can’t tell if it’s necessary to read this story to follow the series because I haven’t read the following book yet, but if you’re like me, you will enjoy how this story entwined with the previous books and you’ll want to read it. Of course Murdoch & Danii’s story is enough of a reason to read the book, everything else is just side benefits!

Immortals After Dark is one of my favorite series and I savour it slowly, reading a book once in a while, dreading the day I’ll catch up and have to wait for release days lol. If you haven’t given Kresley Cole a shot yet, I strongly suggest you do!

Daring You to Read… A Hunger Like no Other by Kresley Cole

I’m in a paranormal romance mood lately, so I chose to challenge you to read another of my favorite PRN series, Immortals After Dark by Kresley Cole. Right along side with the Black Dagger Brotherhood series, IAD manages to swipe me off my feet every time.

What I like the most about this series? Well I’d have to go with a top 3. First, the world Cole created is unique and very dynamic. Second, the selection of Races in her role is simply amazing. I mean, do you know many books who can claim to have Valkyries and Furies among their ranks? That’s not the mention witches, sorceress, demons, vampires (both good and evil), Lykae and more… Yeah there’s definitely something for everyone! And last but not least, the characters! There are MANY characters in this series and they are all amazing. Their personality shines and each couple has a special relationship. Nix is by far my favorite =)

A Hunger like no Other is the first book in the series (though there’s a novella available in Playing Easy to Get, which I haven’t read) and it features Lachlain, the Lykae King, who has been trapped in the catacombs under Paris, suffering torture  by fire for 150 years and Emma a young half-vampire/half-Valkyrie. Fate is playing a cruel joke on them because Lachlain has been hating and killing vampires for centuries. How could his destined Mate be one of them? Their struggles and battles of will were amazing and before I knew it, I was completely hooked!

Kiss of a Demon King, the sixth book in the Immortals After Dark series, was up to par with the previous books in this amazing series. Kresley Cole became one of my favorite author and I was not disappointed =) Usually each book take place one after the other, featuring a different couple each time, but this time around, the story takes place simultaneously with the previous book, Dark Desires After Dusk, featuring Cade, Rydstrom’s brother.  I really like this concept because the brothers were split up during that period of time and both books together give us an amazing insight on all the events.

Miss Cole is a very talented romance writer and she always manages to raise a plethora of emotions from her readers. I found myself excited, anxious, surprised, frustrated and even blushing reading some scenes, which in my book, makes it an amazing story! The plot really manages to keep us on our toes, because chapter after chapter, you have absolutely no idea what to expect. Rydstrom & Sabine’s personalities are so different that you get a explosive mix when they are together, and the results are always very spontaneous and smoldering.

Even though I loved – or loved to hate- each character of this installment, Nix remains my favorite character in this series because she is so unique and completely nuts lol. I really hope she’ll have her own book at some point in the series because I’m sure it’d be incredible!

If you love Paranormal Romance then you must and I insist, YOU MUST, get your hands on this series because you are seriously missing out. Kresley Cole always brings interesting mix-raced couples to the table with action-packed story lines and steamy intimate scenes, a winning combination in this genre.

I’ll put it out in the open right away, I LOVE the Immortals After Dark series and even though this installment was fairly good, I have mixed feelings about it. I think it’s my least favorite of the series thus far.

I really like Cadeon and Holly. He is strong-minded, has a fool mouth and is hilarious at time. She is lovable with her OCDs and weird habits and her naivety was kind of cute. Yet, I’m not sure about the pair of them. He is clearly into her, but the chemistry was somewhat lacking at times.

The story line was interesting, as usual, and I really liked a particular battle near the middle of the book, involving Feys and Flame Demons. Holly really got to shine at the moment and I admired her determination and instincts.

There were barely any secondary characters to speak of in Dark Desires After Dusk, as opposed to the previous books in the series, and I missed it. Nix’s appearances were delightful and refreshing though.

The end killed me. There were two parts to the end; the final battle and the wrap-up. The battle was great and I couldn’t believe what I was reading! There were many ways it could’ve unfolded and I was surprised by the way it turned out. I was putting the book down every ten pages or so because it was killing me. I liked it. The wrap-up though is another story. My girly side is satisfied with the end, yet my logical mind thinks it was too quick and too easy to be believable. If there’d been thirty more pages of challenges before the actual end it wouldn’t worked perfectly I think.

Overall, the Immortals After Dark is an amazing series and even though Dark Desires After Dusk was good, it didn’t live up to my expectations. I’m still anxious to read the following books though and definitely recommend this series to Paranormal Romance lovers out there!

Conrad Wroth has gone completely mad. Drinking from the vein for three centuries, the memories he acquired from his victims are plaguing him, driving him to complete insanity. But his three brothers are determined to bring him back using all possible means. They kidnapped and locked him up in an abandoned mansion they bought, keeping him sedated until recovery. Except that this mansion isn’t really abandoned. Néomie, ghost of a 1920’s ballerina is still roaming her former home. Only Conrad can see her… or is she another of his hallucinations?

I’m a huge fan of the Immortals After Dark series and this book once again delivered. I have to admit I liked Wicked Deeds on a Winter’s Night more, but it’s really hard to top and I truly enjoyed every single page of Dark Needs at Night’s Edge. At some point in the book, Conrad and Néomie watched Romeo & Juliet together and there are many similarities between both stories. Conrad is a vampire turned against his will, full of hatred, working as a killer for hire and collecting enemies. He is also barely holding onto his sanity. He then meets Néomie. She’s a ghost who’s been locked in her mansion for more than 80 years and her only entertainment is the newspaper, if she can reach to grab it in her driveway. She also has a thing for pickpocketing. In life she was a former burlesque dancer, turned ballerina and she was very successful until her ex-boyfriend stabbed her to death in the home she just purchased by herself (quite a deed for a woman in the 20s). To say Néomie and Conrad clash together would be an understatement. They can’t help but be strangely attracted to each other though and I really enjoyed watching them together. How can you be with someone when your not even corporal? Their path was mesmerizing, full of obstacles and oh so tragic. I got teary-eyed on more than one occasion and I was wondering the entire time how they would deal with the latest blow.

I was really happy to see other familiar faces as well, including all Wroth brothers, the Woede brothers, but especially Nix, Mariketa and Bowen. All characters are so colorful and unique, you can’t help but care for every single one of them. I can only raise my metaphorical hat to Kresley Cole.

The pace was a bit slower at the beginning because Conrad wasn’t very lucid and he thought Néomie wasn’t real, but seeing them come together was worth the wait. Things speed-up quickly after that, unrevealing an insane series of events.

I was satisfied by the end even though my curiosity always craves for more. I’m sure the tidbits revealed in the following books will sate me. I’m anxious to read the next book, but I’ll wait a few weeks before I read it because I want to make the pleasure last!

I believe they are all fierce and of course sexy, capturing the physical essence of Kresley's characters.

August 24, 1927) A prima ballerina--and former femme fatale and burlesque dancer--who was murdered and became a ghostly being, invisible to others. She haunts Elancourt, her empty estate.
Rydstrom Woede (Armie Hammer): AKA: King Rydstrom III. Deposed ruler of Rothkalina, the kingdom of the rage demons. The rare rage demon who worships logic, and rarely loses his temper or his control.	Sabine the Queen of Illusions (Blake Lively): Born of the Sorceri. Can cast illusions that are indistinguishable from reality, manipulating anything that can be seen, heard, or imagined. Half sister to Omort the Deathless, a sadistic sorcerer who wrested control of Rothkalina from Rydstrom. Sabine is fated to wed Rydstrom and bear him an heir.
Murdoch Wroth (Gabriel Aubry): Second eldest of the Wroth brothers, Murdoch has been a merciless warrior since he was old enough to go to battle. As a human, he was also a renowned rake. His motto that he'd never met a woman he couldn't seduce is about to be proved false. Garreth MacRieve (Taylor Kitsch): Loyal brother to Lachlain, Garreth is the prince of the Lykae, and held Lachlain's throne for over a century. Desires Lucia, but can never tell her.	Lucia the Huntress (Lesley Anne-Brandt): Never far from her bow, Lucia is as mysterious as her background. Aidan the Fierce (Chris Hemsworth): A berserker who died over a thousand years ago, trying to win Regin the Radiant. He reincarnates again and again, forever seeking to be with her.	Regin the Radiant (Amanda Seyfried): Her mother's people, The Radiant Ones, were exterminated by vampires, and Regin lives for retribution. Despite this, she has evolved into a wit and prankster, quick to laugh and striving to be the world's most immature immortal. Her kisses are as drugging and addictive as the most powerful mystical narcotics. It's rumored that centuries ago, she kissed Aidan the Fierce, a human berserker, and he's since been reincarnated at least four times, unknowingly defying death to seek her again and again. During the summer I became a HUGE Kresley Cole fan, thanks to a fellow book lover and twitteree, Tori @book_faery. I became an absolute Kresley Cole aholic! With every book I found myself more immersed, interested, and obsessed. Being given a chance to guest post on Tynga’s blog during Paranormal Spring Break and be able to try and cast these beloved characters has been so much fun!
