Kelley Armstrong is a super amazing Canadian author so I really wanted her to be part of this event. Unfortunately, her schedule is way to busy to participate (gotta write those books we love so much!), So I invited my good friend Lucy, who is a huge fan of the series, to cast Spell Bound’s characters for us! Please welcome her warmly!
-----------------------
Hello everyone!
I would like to take this opportunity to thank Tynga for having me here today! I am so excited to be invited to guest post a character casting for my favorite series, The Women of the Otherworld by Kelley Armstrong!
For those who have not yet read the series,
Women of the Otherworld is a MUST READ!!!
Each novel alternates narrator, keeping you on your toes and in suspense as to what will happen next! The first two novels begin with Elena Michaels, the only female werewolf, a witch named Paige Winterbourne for the following two, half-demon Eve Levine for Haunted, back to Elena for Broken, necromancer Jaime Vagas for No Humans Involved, half-demon Hope Adams for Personal Demon, a human named Robyn Peltier for Living with the Dead, back to Elena for Frostbitten, and finally a young witch named Savannah for Waking the Witch & Spell Bound.
Books:
Bitten | No Humans Involved
Stolen | Personal Demon
Dime Store Magic | Living with the Dead
Industrial Magic | Frostbitten
Haunted | Waking the Witch
Spell Bound
Otherworld Novellas:
Men of the Otherworld
Tales of the Otherworld
There are so many characters in this series and I thought I would mention those who
often make appearances and play important roles.
Here are my picks:
The Pack – Werewolves
Jeremy Danvers (Alpha)
Matt Davis
Elena Michaels Clayton Danvers
Sarah Foster Chad Michael Murray
Antonio Sorrentino Nick Sorrentino
Gerard Butler Chris Pine
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Paige Winterbourne (Witch) Lucas Cortez (Sorcerer)
Jordana Brewster Jay Hernandez
Savannah Levine (Witch) Adam Vasic (Half Demon)
Vanessa Huggens Stephen Colletti
Eve Levine (Half Demon) Kristoff Nast (Sorcerer)
Angelina Jolie Paul Walker
Jaime Vagas (Necromancer)
Scarlett Johansson
Hope Adams (Half Demon) Karl Martzen (Werewolf)
Leighton Meester Chris Evans
Robyn Peltier (Human) Cassandra DuCharme (Vampire)
Elisha Cuthbert Rachelle Lefevre
Thank you again Tynga for inviting me to guest post! It was really exciting putting this
post together and watching some of the characters come to life!
For those of you who have already read the series, what do you think? I would love to
know who you would choose for each of the characters!
Happy reading everyone! J
-------------------------------------
Random House Canada was nice enough to offer us one (1) copy of Spell Bound, Kelley’s latest release, to giveaway!
Savannah Levine is in terrible danger, and for once she’s powerless to help herself. At the conclusion of Waking the Witch, Savannah swore that she would give up her powers if it would help a young girl. Little did she know that someone would take her up on that promise.
And now, witch hunting assassins, necromancers, half-demons, and rogue witches all seem to be after her. The threat is not just for Savannah; every member of the Otherworld might be at risk. While most of her fellow supernaturals are circling the wagons at a gathering of the council in Miami, Savannah is caught on the road, isolated from those who can protect her and unable to use her vast spell casting talent, the thing she counts on most. In a story that will change the shape of the Otherworld forever, Spell Bound gathers Elena, Clay, Paige, Lucas, Jaime, Hope, and others, who soon learn that the greatest threat to supernaturals just may come from within.
ReplyDeleteI would really love a copy of Spell Bound, though :D
Love, Carina ~ carina-olsen@hotmail.com
I've not read this series yet either so I don't know if the actors fit the characters but I've read her ya series which I loved! My friends a big Kelley Armstrong fan so I'll have to send her over to see if she agrees with you :)
ReplyDeleteI haven't read the series so I don't know how the characters fit, but I loved her YA and I would definitely love an excuse to delve into this series!
I <3 Gerard Butler. :-P My soon to be ex husband bought me Frostbitten for my birthday. I didn't know it was number 9 in the series. :-P Needless to say I can't read it until I read the other 8!
ReplyDeletethanks so much!
ReplyDeletei have not read this series yet so i wouldn't know but everyone looks amazing:)
Have only had the chance to read a short story by Kelley. But have not read anything from this series. I have heard great things about this author and would love to win, to be able to read her books. thanks for the giveaway and the chance to win,.
ReplyDeletechristinebails@yahoo.com
I have an incredibly hard time trying to place actors as the characters I read in books. For me there is never an actor/actress that I think meets up my standards as the character, in appearance and behavior. Don't know why, it is what it is with me. I wish I could think of someone but my brain never works like that. Which is why I am also terrible to be with when I see a movie adaptation of one of my fave books!
ReplyDeletejessica(DOT)agreatread(AT)gmail(DOT)com
I've only read Bitten from the series. I really like the picks up above. I really think Chad Michael Murray would be a great as a wolf, Yum yum, Ooo and Chris Pine. Can't wait to read more of the series :).
ReplyDeleteeckstein99@comcast.net
I'm terrible at casting characters.But I loved who you picked for each one.I think Angelina Jolie is perfect for Eve.
I haven't read this series but the casting you chose looks great. You can't loose with Gerald Butler and Jeremy Danvers! I would love to win and taste this series to see if I want to collect it :-)
ReplyDeleteglittergilr54(at)ymail(dot)com
I have read all of the books in this series (including the Men of the Otherworld). I thought the casting was perfect, except maybe Paige. However, I am not entirely sure who would be better. Maybe Gennifer Godwin? I would have never thought of Angelina either, but she is perfect. I loved the males too. Paul Walker was especially a great choice - exactly as I pictured Kristoff.
ReplyDeletempink22(at)aol(dot)com
I really like some of your picks but I always saw Jeremy as older and more rugged so maybe not Matt Davis.
ReplyDeletejen4777[at]hotmail.com
I haven't had a chance to read the series yet, but have several of the books on my TBR shelf. It looks like a fabulous cast to me though, I'd love to watch that movie.
ReplyDeletemljfoland AT hotmail DOT com
I've read a few books in this series but it has been a long time so I can't really think of who would be a good cast, but I do really like Sarah Foster as Elena.
ReplyDeletethrouthehaze at gmail dot com
I kind of pictured Jeremy as Ioan Gruffudd (Reed Richards from the Fantastic 4 movies.) I like your pick for Elena (even though I have no idea who that woman is.) I guess I could have just googled her.
ReplyDeleteb(dot)cardone(at)hotmail
I think that looks like a near perfect pic for how I'd imagined those characters.
ReplyDeletetwiztidsharkie@aol.com
ReplyDeleteamelno(at)gmail(dot)com
I absolutely love The Women of the Otherworld series, it's amazing! :D I'm kind of sad that it's almost over now, but at the same time I'm glad Kelley isn't planning on dragging it on forever...and I'm sure we'll get frequent novellas or short stories later on too. :D
ReplyDeleteNone of those are how I imagine the characters to be honest, but I like that you showed us your cast, it's interesting to see how we all view characters differently. :)
Thanks for sharing & for the chance to win a copy of Spellbound! I haven't picked up a copy of it yet! :D
I haven't read any of Kelley's books yet, but I would love to! I love stories with werewolves in them. I would definitely cast Joe Manganiello (Alcide on True Blood) as a werewolf because he looks so dark and sexy!
ReplyDeleteangeldream3[AT]gmail[DOT]com
I have this series in my TBR pile so don't know, who I'd pick. However, you have some great choices, esp. Gerard Butler.
I really like all the character visuals. I haven't read any Kelley Armstrong books and would love to remedy that.
ReplyDeleteCambonified(at)yahoo(dot)com
I've only read the first book in the series, so I can't really say for sure, but I definitely love the look of the choices she's made! Each of the people looks like they could be the type of paranormal creature described:)
ReplyDeletejwitt33 at live dot com
I've only read the first three books in the series, so I don't know all the characters that were cast in this post, but I'm actually surprised by most of them. A lot of them I can't picture as the characters in the books. Oh well, different opinions! :) (Either way, I appreciate all the sexy and shirtless men ;)
Very good choices!!
ReplyDeleteI agree with them, but I also think for Elena that Jessica Biel looks good. It's not excatly how I see her though. She's thin but still strong looking. She can kick butt and she's beautiful.
And for Clay.. that's hard.
Although Josh Holloway is too old to play him, I see him sort of that way. The rugged, handsome blonde were. And although Alex Pettyfer is too young... I see him like him also. Both would be great! :)
ReplyDeletevampiremistress2010(at)gmail(dot)com
I loved reading your character cast list. It is sometimes hard for me to think of who would play a character from one of my favorite books because no one seems to measure up. I would have never thought of Angelina Jolie as Eve but she does fit. I see Alexis Bledel as Savannah more than Vanessa Huggens though and I kind of see Jeremy different also but can't decide who. I really enjoyed thinking about all the characters and who I would cast. Thanks. I would love to win a copy of Spellbound as I have not gotten it yet, this series is great and I am sad that there is only one more book coming out but I look forward to seeing what else Kelley Armstrong comes up with. She is one of my favorite authors.
ReplyDeleterachaelmccully@yahoo.com
Wow - I love most of your choices! Personally I was thinking of someone different for Clay though - someone like Chris Hemsworth. :)
I love this series; Kelley Armstrong is one of my favorite authors. The choices for actors are interesting, I really like the choices for Elana and Clay, though I think I would have picked someone younger for Hope.
ReplyDeletejlynettes @ hotmail . com
I've only read the books that had Elena as the narrator. So I'd say your picks for Elena and Clayton are dead-on. And from what I remember of the vampire, Rachelle Lefevre fits like a glove. Plus she's mastered the slinky, sexy vampiress.
ReplyDeletebrittanynoelle at gmail dot com
I'll probably have bought Spellbound before the end of the giveaway (I don't think I can hold out that long) so don't enter me. I like most of your picks but Page and Lucas aren't anything like I pictured, and I though Adam was meant to be blonde and Karl kinda older (atleast I thought so, but maybe with the whole werewolf thing he's still meant to look really young?). Still, great post and I love, love, love this series!
ReplyDeleteI'm not that good at deciding who I think would be the ultimate choice for each character. But if I see someone's picture or know of them I can tell if I think they would be good.
I think from your list Matt Davis as Jeremy is probably the closest to how I see the characters. I can't put my finger on why I don't like Chad Michael Murray for Clay. Maybe too young?
I'm familiar with The Darkest Powers trilogy, but not this series, so I won't be able to comment on that. ReplyDeleteI agree with your choices for Cassandra and Clayton, however I don't know why but despite Kelly Armstrong describing Elena as having pale blond hair, I always imagine her with jet black or deep brown hair and warm intense brown eyes. For me the name Elena sounds too excotic and Latina, so I always picture her in my mind with tanned skin and chocolate eyes and very dark hair :-D
Thank youo for the fantastic giveaway!
