My Weekend in New York

I went to NY with my mom and my sister as a late Mother’s Day gift (my schedule wouldn’t allow me to go earlier).

We arrived a 5PM on Saturday and I was chocked by our hotel room o.O I’ve rent rooms in three different country and that room was by far the most expensive and crappiest lol, I mean the sink wasn’t even in the bathroom, how weird.

Anyway, We walked a bit along Broadway and ate on the way heading to The Lion King muscial.

The show is AWESOME! I cried at the very first scene, it was just so beautiful and the kid playing the young Simba was really talented! The costumes were fantastic, you can see below a a representation of the woman playing Rafiki (the baboon)

It was 11pm when we got out of the theatre, with is smack in the middle of time square. It was SO CROWDED it was insane, and so many huge screen that it was bright as day outside. I took a few pictures but they were all crappy, here’s my best shot!

On the second day we headed straight for Canal Street with all the little shops. Both a handbag and sun glasses plus some goodies for my boyfriend. We then started walking along Broadway heading for The Strand and B&N. Geez those stores are HUGE! I really had a hard time finding anything, I guess you need to be used to the place o.O I wanted to see if they had some ARCs for sale (for curiosities' sake) but didn’t find any. I both a copy of Stormwalker by Alyson James though =)

On the way to the book goodies I ran into a store called Joyce Leslie. OMFG This store is AMAZING. I wanted to buy every single piece of clothing in that place! To bad we don’t have one of those stores in Canada. I ended up buying like 6-7 pieces of clothing, including a dress for my friend’s upcoming wedding!

I of course tasted NY Pizza, but I quite honestly wasn’t impress. Maybe it was just that restaurant but geez it was so greasy  I could’ve swam on my pizza lol. I prefer Quebec’s Pizza hehe

By the end of the day I was so exhausted that I didn’t do much that night and we came back to Montreal on Monday.

One thing that shocked me in NY is the INSANE amount of Starbucks! There is one every street corner or so lol and on the opposite, there a no gas station to be found! We drove around for 30min with people giving us false directions before we managed to find one, by then we were getting worried because our gas tank was almost dry lol.

Overall it was quite an experience! I’ll have to go back some day for some more shopping lol and hopefully I’ll get to be at BEA next year!
