One Foot in the Grave by Jeaniene Frost

" You can run from the grave, but you can't hide . . .

Half-vampire Cat Crawfield is now Special Agent Cat Crawfield, working for the government to rid the world of the rogue undead. She's still using everything Bones, her sexy and dangerous ex, taught her, but when Cat is targeted for assassination, the only man who can help her is the vampire she left behind.

Being around him awakens all her emotions, from the adrenaline kick of slaying vamps side by side to the reckless passion that consumed them. But a price on her head—wanted: dead or half-alive—means her survival depends on teaming up with Bones. And no matter how hard she tries to keep things professional between them, she'll find that desire lasts forever . . . and that Bones won't let her get away again. " - Book Cover

How amazing that book is? I'm at lost for words to explain how much I loved the second installment in the Night Huntress series.

Cat is powerful, sexy, resourceful and full of surprises. She is now a Federal agent killing and capturing vamps for the greater good. Working with a crew of very unique men, Cat is dully doing her job trying not to think of her one true love, Bones.

I'd like to take a moment to mention that I love Tate, Juan, Dave and Cooper, Cat's co-worker because they are all different, funny and they would do anything for their beloved Cat. They would give their lives for her, and so would she.
Bones is as sexy as ever, smoldering hot isn't a strong enough word, I just love the guy to the bones (pun intended).
We were also introduced to Denise and Randy in that book. Denise is Cat's best friend and Randy her new husband, they weren't major characters, but I'm hoping we'll discover more about them in the future books!

There were so many treason and lies revealed in this book, it was insane. There is a lot more to the whole story than you think at first, and it's stunning to see all the events unfold that way.

Jeaniene is truly a genius, I loves the characters, love the story, I can't have enough of Jeaniene's writing!

I have the next two books in the series, and I am trying to hold back a bit to make the pleasure last, I don't want to rush through the whole series, but geez it's gonna be hard lol.

  3. this series has been itching at me for a while now, and I still can't decide whether I should try it or not...partly because I'm afraid the romance (which seems to be the selling point) will overpower the plot...
your review does bring up a few points of incentive to me, mostly the likeable side characters and their protectiveness/teamwork
I'll try out the first book when I get the chance, thanks! =)
