In My Mailbox

In My Mailbox

Before getting to serious buiness,
would like to thank The Story Siren for hosting In My Mailbox every weeks =)
This week was good goodie-wise, but it was a rollercoaster with my postman's replacement for the month.
I swear I could write a short novelia called The Adventures of Tynga's and her Postman. And It would not be a love story =P
Let me give you a short resume!
My usual postman (with whom I had problems when he first started this route, but is now ok) is on vacation for a month, thus there's a new guy doing my deliveries.
On monday - I won a price from the fabulous Bree Despain (details below), and the postman bent pretty badly the envelope she sent me, with a clear *Handle with care* warning on it, to fit it in my mailbox. Result: All the pretty signed bookmarks she sent me are damaged (you can't see well on the pics).
On tuesday - all good I didn't receive anything.
On wednesday - He rings the bell to give my packages, I open the door waiting for him to finish put the letters in my neighbours mailboxes, but as soon as he is done he leaves! He let's my preicous packages on the floor! I don't know you have a similar system in the States, but when someone isn't at home, the postman leaves a little card in the mailbox saying you should pick up your packages at the post office, and your packages will wait there sound and safe.
So... I assumed he didn't see or heard me, put why leave my precious packages there on the floor unprotected =(
On thursday - He rings the bell, and this time I make sure he notices me. And know what he did? He threw me. yes, yes, THREW me my package instead of climbing the 4 stairs between us.
I think this guy will drive me nuts -.-
So, now that i'm done whinning, here's what I got this week!

I won this The Dark Divine themed necklace on Bree Despain's blog.
Thank you very much Bree!

And I got the pretty (but damaged *cry*) bookmarks from Bree Despain!

  4. I had a postman shove packages into my mailslot. Mind you, its a slot so NOTHING bigger than magazines will fit. They are truly truly ding dongs.

  5. Our mailman leaves packages at the door if no one is home, and normally I wouldn't have a problem with that, but it rains a lot in the summer here (Florida). Luckily, my brother is home more than me and so far nothing has gotten wet. Although I did have UPS leave a package at the door and not ring the doorbell. Didn't find out it was there until my brother left for work a couple hours later.

The other day I got home to find a package of a softcover book rolled up to fit in the mailbox. I almost died until I saw it was for my brother (so it was just a textbook he ordered).

  7. This sucks Sara.
I'm lucky that I work from 4 to midnight so I'm almost always home when the postman stops by.

  8. That necklace is gorgeous!

My mom lives in house she converted from a double to a single residence but the city keeps the two addresses even though she only uses one address. Her mailman was using her "2nd" address to get packages and taking them before they got to her house. We found out when he got sick and another mailman took his route!

  9. Great mailbox - I love your necklace!!

I have the same problems with our postman - he is supposed to take things back to the post office if you're not home but he always leaves parcels on the door step. I wouldn't mind if they were out of sight as we have a covered porch so they won't get wet but they are in plain sight from the street so anyone could walk past and steal them!

Sometimes he can't even be bothered to put letters through the letter box & we've come home to find things like new bank cards just left on the floor in front of the door!!

  13. I feel incredibly lucky, as I live with the town post-master (my boyfriend's mum), so I don't ever ever have to deal with terrible mailpeople.

That said, yay for Perfect Chemistry! And what a gorgeous necklace :-)

  15. Thank you for participating in The Saturday Network!

And, yeah, my postman just drives up our loooong driveway and tosses the package. Luckily, we have a covered porch too, but he doesn't even ring the doorbell. And as for throwing a book... *sob*. Great win though, and Fire Study is awesome. Happy reading! :D

  19. Love the necklace!
I also can't believe he threw you the package. Geez.
I've had problems w/ my mail some too, though it mostly happened before it got to my mailwoman I think because the cd case that I received from Missy Jane was cracked, but there wasn't a scratch on the cd thankfully.
I hope you enjoy Fire Study! I love that whole series!

Wow, the necklace is so cool!! I want it!! *_*

I cant believe that guy!! Whats his problem!!!?? I hate the mail service, they always seem to be blind with the "handle with care" packages. Its like they do it on purpose!
