When I’m not writing… with Anastasia Hopcus

anastasia

I am very happy to have debut author Anastasia Hopcus by my side today! Her first book, Shadow Hills, released this summer by Egmont and was a huge success! I have to confess, I am terribly jealous of her beautiful read hair *blush* Without further introduction, here’s what Anastasia likes to do in her free time!

Anastasia DVDs Here's a look at my shelves of DVD's.  As you can probably tell, I love movies and television series.  Starting when I was still in elementary school, every Friday night my friends and I would go to Blockbuster and rent horror movies to liven up our weekends. My family also had tons of VHS tapes.  I haven't been able to replace all of them on DVD yet, but I've done my best. Last Christmas I got my favorite John Hughes movies on DVD.  And, of course, I can't resist adding new films like Adventureland and Kick Ass.

But perhaps even more than movies, I enjoy DVD's of television series.  It's like watching a 22 hour movie!  I love the multiple characters and story lines, the long plot arcs that spread out over a whole season. (That will doubtless come as no surprise to you who have read Shadow Hills; I envisioned my story from the beginning as a series of books.)  I can watch my favorite TV shows over and over again; I know large sections of Friends and Buffy the Vampire Slayer by heart.  It's 'comfort food' viewing.

Hope you enjoyed this little peek into one of the ways I spend my leisure time!

Thanks you very much for share with us Anastasia! We have quite a few DVDs in common ^^

Here’s a little bit about her book!

shadowhills Since her sister’s mysterious death, Persephone “Phe” Archer has been plagued by a series of disturbing dreams. Determined to find out what happened to her sister, Phe enrolls at Devenish Prep in Shadow Hills, Massachusetts—the subject of her sister’s final diary entry.

After stepping on campus, Phe immediately realizes that there’s something different about this place—an unexplained epidemic that decimated the town in the 1700s, an ancient and creepy cemetery, and gorgeous boy Zach—and somehow she’s connected to it all.

But the more questions she asks and the deeper she digs, the more entangled Phe becomes in the haunting past of Shadow Hills. Finding what links her to this town…might cost her her life.

Miss Hopcus was very generous and is also offering a Shadow Hills Poster to one lucky reader!
