Yesterday, I went to my very first signing and it was very exciting!
Authors pretty much never visit Montreal and when I heard Linda Poitevin, author of Sins of the Angels, was coming to town I was really happy!
I’ve been talking with Linda on twitter for months now and I was really glad to finally meet her. She was super nice – and so was her husband – and I really had a great time!
She answered plenty of my questions and was very patient hehe.
I was even quoted on her little board, (which you can’t see very well I’m sorry) so it rocked even more! lol
I was a bit disappointed by the store’s organization though. The only set a tiny round table for her by the entrance of the store. I was honestly expecting an actual table with a few rows of chairs but no such luck.
Either way, I had a blast and I was there with Lisa, Cindy, Lucy & Tina, other Montreal bloggers and was glad to see them again ^^
If you live in the Montreal area, Indigo on Ste-Catherine probably still has a couple of signed copy you couple purchase =)

Here’s a bit more about Sins of the Angels
A detective with a secret lineage. An undercover Hunter with a bullet-proof soul. And a world made to pay for the sins of an angel…
Homicide detective Alexandra Jarvis answers to no one. Especially not to the new partner assigned to her in the middle of a gruesome serial killer case-a partner who is obstructive, irritatingly magnetic, and arrogant as hell.
Aramael is a Power—a hunter of the Fallen Angels. A millennium ago, he sentenced his own brother to eternal exile for crimes against humanity. Now his brother is back and wreaking murderous havoc in the mortal realm. To find him, Aramael must play second to a human police officer who wants nothing to do with him and whose very bloodline threatens both his mission and his soul.
Now, faced with a fallen angel hell-bent on triggering the apocalypse, Alex and Aramael have no choice but to join forces, because only together can they stop the end of days.

Book signings are so much fun. I'm glad you were finally able to attend one. None come to Kingston, so I've travelled to Toronto, Brampton and Ottawa for them so far. They are usually at night during the week or weekends in Toronto - so I miss out on a lot of weekday ones.
ReplyDeleteHopefully more come to Montreal!
Sounds like it was a wonderful time!

I'm jealous! In New Brunswick we don't get authors very often. Looks like you had a lot fun! :)
ReplyDeleteHappy Reading!

That's so cool! My first signing was for author (and actress) Adrienne Barbeau. I actually never read her book before. I was just excited to finally have an author from our genre come to our area.
ReplyDeleteI've also had the pleasure of going to 2 Thea Harrison/Virna DePaul signings. Those ladies are so awesome and we even got to have lunch with them :-)

Yay I'm glad you had fun at your first signing! Signings are always a ton of fun but it is too bad how the store set it up, normally signings do have a table and chairs so people can sit down to listen to the author chat for a little while before the actual signing.
ReplyDeleteSounds awesome! I love going to author events. It's always so interesting to me to meet the person behind the crazy. Being a writer myself, I always appreciate getting first-hand insight about the author and how much of themselves they put into their characters.
ReplyDeleteSmiles!
