I am super stoked about today's post because we're participating in the First Annual Chicagoland Vampires Spring Fling! I've been in love with Merit and the world of the Chicagoland Vampires since I picked up SOME GIRLS BITE and the series has gotten bigger and better with each installment. The sixth book in the series, BITING COLD, comes out in fewer than 80 days and Chloe Neill has set up this lovely one-week tour as part of the celebration! (Plus, May is Chloe's favourite month.)
About the Chicagoland Vampires Novels: Turned into a vampire against her will, twenty-eight-year-old Merit, the heroine of Chloe Neill’s New York Times bestselling series, found her way into the dark circle of Chicago’s vampire underground, where she learned there was more to supernaturals than met the eye—and more supernaturals than the public ever imagined. The sixth book in the series, BITING COLD, will be released on August 7, 2012.
Why I Love these Books: Merit's an amazing protagonist who jumps off the page and she's surrounded by a cast of equally compelling characters. (I adore all of the Cagodan vampires we spend time with but I have particularly soft spots for Lindsay and Malik.) Plus, the overall story arc of the series gets bigger with each book and watching Merit and the other Cadogan vampires rise to the occasion makes for an absorbing and fast-paced read. There's also a lot of humour in the books, even with all the heavy moments, and I love a book that brings the funny. And, of course, there's Jonah. Love him. I'm sure most people are on Team Ethan but I think Jonah's the bee's knees. My favourite book so far: HARD BITTEN. Here's why.
Did you Know?: Merit, the heroine of the Chicagoland Vampires novels, is obsessed with chocolate? She kept an entire kitchen drawer stuffed with chocolate delights, including chocolate-covered pecans and giant, gold-wrapped bars of Lindt chocolate that remind her of the chocolate bars in Charlie & The Chocolate Factory?
The Spring Fling is your chance to get familiar with the Chicagoland Vampires novels and get excited for BITING COLD so I hope you'll visit each and every blog on the tour. There are fun facts and amazing giveaways on each blog and I'd strongly encourage to visit each one.

Here's the scoop on SOME GIRLS BITE:
They killed me. They healed me. They changed me.
Sure, the life of a graduate student wasn’t exactly glamorous, but it was mine. I was doing fine until Chicago’s vampires announced their existence to the world-and then a rogue vampire attacked me. But he only got a sip before he was scared away by another bloodsucker… and this one decided the best way to save my life was to make me the walking undead.
Turns out my savior was the master vampire of Cadogan House. Now I’ve traded sweating over my thesis for learning to fit in at a Hyde Park mansion full of vamps loyal to Ethan “Lord o’ the Manor” Sullivan. Of course, as a tall, green-eyed, four hundred year old vampire, he has centuries’ worth of charm, but unfortunately he expects my gratitude-and servitude. Right…
But my burgeoning powers (all of a sudden, I’m surprisingly handy with some serious weaponry), an inconvenient sunlight allergy, and Ethan’s attitude are the least of my concerns. Someone’s still out to get me. Is it the rogue vampire who bit me? A vamp from a rival House? An angry mob bearing torches?
My initiation into Chicago’s nightlife may be the first skirmish in a war-and there will be blood…
Purchase: Amazon | Book Depository
And here's the rest of the series. You can click on HARD BITTEN and DRINK DEEP for my thoughts on these books.

Wow. First to comment. Chicagoland Vamps is one of my favorite series. I'll admit the last two books got me riled up, but I can't wait to read the next book. Thanks for the giveaway.
ReplyDeleteOMG, this prize pack is amazing! I love the Chicaland Vamps. I have the large size Cadogan House mug that I save for my weekend coffee's and my Sentinel tshirt too. Can't get enough Merit and Ethan. I do agree that Jonah is pretty cool too, but Ethan. I did really like Marcus at first, but he turned into a whiny baby.
ReplyDeleteOh I hope I win this prize pack, thanks for being a part of the tour!
I love the Chicagoland Vamps!! I can't wait for the new book. Oh, and Ethan...yum!
ReplyDeleteI love the Chicagoland Vampire series. One of my favorite things is Chloe's ability to create such an incredible world with each character so well developed in the series. That's true talent. And who doesn't love a girl who isn't afraid to eat in front of a man or vamp!

ReplyDeleteI love the Chicagoland Vamps!!! Chloe just makes it so easy to get invested in the story and characters. I was born and rasied outside of Chicago so I just love that part plus Chicagoland food rock!!!! Can't wait for the next book!!! Loving Merit and Ethan!!! Thanks for the giveaway.
ReplyDeleteLove this series! Love Merit! Almost as much, I love that it's set in my hometown :-) Flying off the library downtown, the lakefront...I could see it all so clearly. Ethan, Jacob & the cast of charchters keep me wondering how or if Merit will get her HEA. Her family is something else too! So much to love about these books...& I do love them! :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks for te giveaway!
I love the friendships,the humor.The great storytelling.Oh and Ethan...yum. :)
ReplyDeleteI love this series and can't wait for more Ethan!! :)
ReplyDeleteI really like this series! I especially love the sexual tension between Merit and Ethan! :D
ReplyDeleteI have not read this series but I have read a story that was in an anthology and enjoyed it. I found the characters entertaining.
ReplyDeleteWhat I love the most about this series is Chloe Neill's guts. I've been frustrated and outraged over some of the things that she's done to the characters in this series. Even though her stories aren't always easy to swallow; I can't help but admire her for going against the typical HEA endings.
ReplyDeleteI feel the exact same way, Carmel :)
DeleteI have heard nothing but great things about this series! It's been on my TBR list but due to finances I haven't been able to buy any books. Thank you for being apart of this!
ReplyDeleteI haven't read this series, but I have heard a lot of good things about it and it is definitely one I want to try.
ReplyDeleteI haven't started it yet but do have a couple of the books. All the reviews I've read have convinced me this is a must read series.
ReplyDeleteFavorite thing - Ethan :) I like the strong silent, hard to crack guys so - perfect :)
ReplyDeleteI haven't started it yet, but I love everything I've heard great things and cannot wait to dive in
ReplyDeletei haven't read any of these books yet, but i love vampire books so i'm sure these, especially with this ethan i keep reading about, are going to be some books i'm going to love : )
ReplyDeleteI haven't read this series! But I have been hearing such great things about it. Vamps are always fun to read about :)
ReplyDeleteLove this series! What I love is Merit herself! She has the best attitude! I love her snark! She is just too funny and I love her interactions with Ethan in the beginning!
ReplyDeleteI so love the series. Love Merit. She's sensible, strong and witty. A girl you can relate to and admire.
ReplyDeleteIctannot wait until Biting Cold to come out.
ReplyDeleteI love the series so much! Merit is such a great heroine and I love her moments with Ethan.
ReplyDeleteI have not yet read the series but I've been hearing such great things about it that it's quickly moving to the top of my TBR mountain. I'm intrigued firstly because I'm from Chicago and I love to see how authors portray my city. I'm also a sucker for a strong female main character.
ReplyDeleteThis looks like a fabulous giveaway!
I love the relationships that Merit has with all the different supernatural beings she meets.
ReplyDeleteI love how all the vampires like in Houses together. Its like college for the Undead. I loved living in the dorms.
ReplyDeleteI love that the series has a more sarcastic vibe to it. Life isn't always serious, and the books get that just right.
ReplyDeleteI love the Chicagoland Vampires; there is one book, won't mention spoilers for those who haven't read them yet, I was sure would finish the series for me; but no,I'm still hooked and looking forward to the next one, Biting Cold!
ReplyDeleteI love the humor from the Chicagoland Vampires and the Dark Elite novels, they always have me lol and people giving me strange looks!
ReplyDeleteI have heard so many great things about this series that I cannot wait to read it.

I love this series and Ethan. The first book is my favorite.
ReplyDeleteI've heard such good things about this series and I can't wait to read them.
ReplyDeleteI haven't started the series yet, but I've heard a lot of great reviews and recommendations on it. It appeals to me because I always enjoy stories involving vampires and strong, resourceful heroines.
ReplyDeleteI like that Meritt is, to put it slightly ironically, human. She makes mistakes and has the same problems as the rest of us. The characters are all immensely relatable & compelling. Great mix of action & humor.
ReplyDeleteisabelli3619 (at) aol (dot) com
I love that Meritt is a really strong female character and doesnt need a man to feel worthy
ReplyDeleteMan, that is so cruel! I get excited about the awesome swag, and at the last moment it says US/Can only. I think I am going to emigrate!
ReplyDeleteI love this series. Everything draws me to it. From the endearing characters, to the humor, to the way the way this series is so wonderfully written. Everyone who likes paranormal books should read this series, this author.
ReplyDeleteI want to read this story because everyone in the series already know about the vampires, so I don't have to wait for the dumb main character to stop freaking out over the fact that the vamps are real. Plus the character sounds like a strong person who knows exactly what she wants, and doesn't need to wait around for someone else to help/do things for her.
ReplyDeleteThe books are easy to fall into
ReplyDeleteI have heard so many great things about this series although I haven't read it yet myself. I have been wanting to start this series though. Thanks for the giveaway.
ReplyDeleteWell, I love vampires, and I've heard amazing feedback about this series. Thank you for hosting this huge giveaway :)
ReplyDeleteThis is a new series and author for me. I love to read and always looking for new books and authors to check out. I love vampires and their stories and this one looks awesome. Have heard great things about this author and would love to win and read this book. Thanks for the giveaway.
ReplyDeletechristinebails@yahoo.com
This is a new series to me, but I have heard some really good things about it so I want to give it a try. Thanks for the giveaway.
ReplyDeleteI haven't read these yet...the only reason being is that they aren't text to speech enabled on the kindle and are higher priced. But I have heard so many wonderful things about them that they have been at the top of my TBR list forever. I am going to have to break down and spend the $ and read them soon!
ReplyDeleteI haven't read the series yet but I heard it is good and I love reading about vampires. Tore923@aol.com
ReplyDeleteI love Chloe's way of writing. I instantly fall into their world and couldn't get enough.
ReplyDeleteI love Merit. She's smart and confident and tries her best, but she can be selfish and silly, like all of us. I enjoy her voice as the narrator and it's hard not to root for her.
ReplyDeleteI haven't read this series yet, but it is on my TBR list. Shamefully, it's been on there for a long time now :( I like that it is a vampire series, who doesn't love vampires!
ReplyDeleteAna♥
I haven't read the series yet, but I've been wanting to for awhile now! I've heard so many great reviews about the series and I love sexy vampires!
ReplyDeleteI love the relationship of Eric and Merit.
ReplyDeleteI haven't read this series but have had my eye on it for a while. I love all paranormals, especially those with vampires!
ReplyDeleteI love the snarkiness of Merit and Catcher. Always fun to read and always makes me laugh. They are some of the funniest characters I've ever read about. Plus Chloe Neill's style is so captivating. I can't explain why I love this series so much, but I was sucked into the story from the first book.
ReplyDeleteI've only read the first two books of the series so far but I absolutely LOVE it!! Any time I'm asked who my favorite kick ass heroine is, I have to go with Merit because she kicks butt and she looks danged good doing it in leather!! I, too, love the humor in the books and think that's what puts them over the top for me into the "love it" category! Thanks so much for the excellent post and giveaway:)
ReplyDeletei love the chemistry between Merit and Ethan
ReplyDeleteFroggy
I so love this series! Being from Chicago, the series name automatically caught my eye. After reading the first book, I couldn't help but fall in love with Merit, who is a kick butt heroine, and Ethan. Thanks so much for the awesome giveaway!
ReplyDeletei haven't read the series yet but from what i know, merit is pretty kickass. i love tough heroines and this sounds like a great series.
ReplyDeleteI like all types of vampire stories so this series appeals to me because of the vamps. Plus the heroine is strong!
ReplyDeleteI only need Ethan to make this my fav series!!
ReplyDeleteI love the way the vampires try to stick together and fight as a unit. They live, eat, and sleep in the same place, I think it helps them have a better bond.
ReplyDeleteI've only read the first three (the second is coming up soon in my TBR pile), but I love the characters and the tension Neill creates between them.
ReplyDeleteAlso, the humor and the fact that the storylines differ from book to book, it's not just a rehashing of the same thing in a different form.
I like Merit, though I think she's too much of a pushover when it comes to Ethan (can you tell he's not my favorite?), and the secondary characters: her grandpa's crew and especially Catcher. There's also always a good whodunit thrown in.
ReplyDeleteWhat I love most about these books is Merit & Ethan's romantic & work relationship. ;)
ReplyDeleteI love that Merit is strong, brave, loyal, and can kick some serious butt but she's also vulnerable and that makes her easier to relate to.
ReplyDeleteI haven't read the books yet. I'm intrigued by the tough heroine.
ReplyDeleteI haven't read these yet, but would love to read these, because I love vampires
ReplyDeleteI haven't read the series yet, but everyone who has the same taste in books as me, loves the series. And who doesn't love vampires?!?!?!
ReplyDeleteI have only read the first CV book, although I want to read the rest. Our library does not have them. I love Merit and the way she is so hard-ass and sticks to what she believes in.
ReplyDelete- Beckie
I've only been able to read the first 2 books in the series since that's all my library carries. Although I'm thinking I might just have to buy the rest because I really want to know what's going on. I love the humor in the book but also Ethan as well.
ReplyDeleteI love how the books make me laugh out loud! Great series!
ReplyDeleteI love this series. I love the strength of Merit's character, she one of my favorite urban fantasy heroines. And I love humor in this series.
ReplyDeleteI haven't read this yet. What appeals to me most is that the books are about vampires!! Lately I've been quite addicted to books about Vampiresss!! :)
ReplyDeleteI have heard so many great things about this series and the characters. I've been wanting to read these for a while!
ReplyDeleteI've only read the first book so far. Most everyone I know has read this series up to date but me. I'm trying to rectify that asap. It's been on my to read list. Thanks for the chance to win!!
ReplyDeleteDeAnna Schultz
I have not read the series yet...but it is on my TBR list! To me, I would say the most appealing thing about the CV series would be the mystery with the action and the romance! It just gets to you! :D I love that one series has so many genres mixed into one awesomesauce package! ;p I mean how can you resist that, right? Also, I have heard a great many things about this series and know that it has powerful characters! I will definitely be looking forward to reading to this!
ReplyDeleteThank you for the chance! :D
I've only read the first TCV book and I love it, it's hard to find the books in our bookstore.
ReplyDeleteI love Merit, mostly because I love strong independent female leads and I love her and Ethan's love-hate relationship, it's funny.
Nazish @ Nazish Reads
I love this series. And the relationship between Merit and Ethan is one of my favorite parts.
ReplyDeleteLove, love, love this series! I'm on book 3 now. So amazing!Hope I win the prize pack!
