News: Storm Born–The Graphic Novel

You guys probably don’t know, but Storm Born by Richelle Mead was the very first review I wrote on the blog, back in June 2009. You can check it out here, but please don,t be to hard on me LOL

I was super excited when I learnt it would be made into a graphic novel (maybe my fiancé will finally accept to read one of my books?) and Sea Lion Books contacted me this morning to share the first couple of pages of the book! *Squee*

Let me share them with you!

Awesome isn’t it?

Richelle Mead’s Dark Swan: Storm Born, Issue 1 will be released May 18th, and I CAN’T WAIT to read it. I’m especially anxious to see what Dorian and Kiyo will look like *winks*

So what do you guys think? Do you plan on buying it? Have you read Storm Born- the novel?

  1. I had no idea the series was getting the graphic novel treatment! But now I know that I need them in my life! ^___^

I wonder how involved Ms. Mead was with the production of these volumes. Hopefully quite a bit.

  2. I think she was fairly involved, here's what I found on Sea Lion Books' website:
"Graphic artist Dave Hamann’s projects include Amory Wars for Evil Ink Comics, Gauze for Arcana Comics, and Zenescope's Grimm Fairy Tales. As a fan of the Dark Swan series, he wants to remain faithful to Mead’s story, and to her lead character, Eugenie. "I'm hard-pressed to think of too many urban comics starring a strong, butt-kicking, female shamanic mercenary." "Grant and Dave have done a really amazing job in capturing Eugenie's story. It's been wonderful working with them, and I can't wait to see what fans think of the final product. I hope they love it as much as I do," said Richelle Mead."
