PSB: Crescent Moon Press Day–Part 2

PSB2_thumb

scroll_png_thumb[3]

Crescent Moon Press authors were really excited by the Paranormal Spring Break and eight (8) of them wanted to participate! To keep it manageable, authors were paired two by two an interviews each other! On this post, you’ll be able to see: Christine Ashworth & Berinn Rae.

Christine Ashworth’s Interview with Berinn Rae

A woman believed to be the harbinger of Armageddon.

The sexy knight assigned to kill her.

Alaskan bush pilot Kerra Cain lives a relatively normal life. That is, until a fallen angel reveals
his plans to use Kerra to trigger the Apocalypse. To escape, she must place her trust in the arms of Gareth, a dangerously sexy, enigmatic man who has haunted her dreams for years.

Believing his mission unjust and in search of answers, Gareth whisks Kerra away to a protected island fortress where the Guardians of the Seven Seals train, all the while battling their growing attraction. When one of the Seals is kidnapped, Kerra must embrace a heritage long denied her if they are to rescue the Seal and save the world from Armageddon

Berinn, you classify your book KNIGHTFALL as a fantasy romance. I've got some questions for you, so sit back and get comfy.

1.  Your heroine, Kerra, is a bush pilot. Where in the world is KNIGHTFALL set, and do you have experience as a bush pilot?

I have my pilot’s license but haven’t achieved bush pilot status yet. Before I started Knightfall, I asked Kerra if she was cool with living in the Midwest (my home skies), but she had always dreamed of being a bush pilot. And, so we were off to Alaska where she flies supplies out of a small airport.

2.  What does Gareth, your hero, do for a living, and how did he first meet Kerra?

Gareth is an immortal knight, a Guardian of the Seven Seals. He does whatever it takes to get the job done. Kill. Lie. Cheat. Steal. And Kerra is his next assignment. Lucky girl. The fireworks start in chapter 1, which you can read for free on my website: www.berinnrae.com.

3.  What is your favorite secondary character in your novel?

Leaving out the uber-sexy Guardians (because it’s impossible to pick just one), I’ll have to go with Beacon, Kerra’s small terrier-mix dog she got from the shelter. No matter what happens, the fur ball keeps his chin – er, nose – up.

4.  Why did this story so capture your imagination that you had to write about it?

Two reasons. First, I fell in love Kerra’s kick-assitude. She isn’t afraid to go for what she wants, even if that desire is a deadly knight. Second, the Book of Revelations fascinates me. One day I got thinking: what if the Seven Seals were special tattoo-like marks worn by seven immortals? And if one were killed, that Seal would be broken. And so The Guardians of the Seven Seals series was born.

5.  KNIGHTFALL looks to be the first in a series. What else do you have in store for us?

Knightfall (my first book!) comes out in April and is the first in The Guardians of the Seven Seals series. Next up is Clair’s story. She’s a spunky jinn you’ll meet in Knightfall. She’s commanded to marry a dangerously sexy druid prince. Let’s just say she’s not happy about it. Especially when said prince broke her heart centuries earlier.

Berinn Rae’s Interview with Christine Ashworth (err, I mean, Gabriel)

Gabriel Caine stands on the edge of the abyss. A vampire has stolen his soul and if he doesn't get it back soon, his next step will be into Hell. Only the naïvely mysterious Rose can help him
retrieve it. Without her, he really will become the devil himself.

Rose Walters has been sent back from the dead to complete one task-save Gabriel Caine. She's drawn to Gabriel on the most basic level, but restoring his soul may cost Rose her life.

Rose has touched the whole of Gabriel, making him yearn for a love he believes he can never have. Her willingness to put her human life on the line for him forces him to bring all three parts
of himself—demon, human, and Feri bloodlines, and the strengths of each—into harmony and into the fight that decides their fate

Uh, hi Gabriel (*sheepishly waving at hot guy sitting in my easy chair). I was expecting Christine. Well, since you’re here, how about we talk about your book. You’re the hero in Demon Soul, which is about you and your tribred brothers – you have demon, human and sexy fae blood. I’m a sucker for a hot tribred. Let’s talk about you and the things that go bump in the night…

1.  Team Edward or Team Jacob?

Team Tribred. We're the best of all worlds.

2.  Both are bad-ass. Who would win a battle between a demon and a vampire?

It's handy to have fire around when dealing with vampires. That said, a demon's skin is harder to bite through and their strength is a good match for a vampire. I kick some major vampire ass in the book. Read it. It's good.

3.  Let’s say you take a trip down south. Way south. What would be your first question to the people of Hell?

"Any regrets?" No, seriously. I've lived in a hell of my own making. I can't imagine living in the real deal. I'm over my isolation, though. It's time I started doing what I can to make life better for those less fortunate.

4.  Being a tribred, you have a lot of different blood flowing in your veins. What's the difference between demon blood and fae blood?

With demon blood, we can turn into our demon and wreak havoc on the world if we're not careful. Fae blood allows us to heal ourselves and others, and to draw strength from the planet. Learning to balance the gifts and the traps of our bloodlines is something every tribred has to go through. And it's not always pretty.

5.  And, last but not least... Spill the scoop on your upcoming release. It’s part of a series, right?

Right. Christine has plans to document all the Caine brothers' lives. I first met her at the Nine Hells bar in Venice, California. I bought her drinks and we became friends. That's why my story, DEMON SOUL, is coming out first. She gets most of the details right, though she takes some liberties with our sex lives. I mean, we don't tell her everything!  I believe my big brother Gregor's story is next - DEMON HUNT - that one details how he fell for a full blooded fae. Boy was Gregor pissed! My other brother, Justin, met his match in Magdalena ...their story comes out in DEMON FURY. And of course there's my cousin Kellan's story, in DEMON FLIGHT. He's actually been to the Chaos Plane - it's a fairly scary place. How he ever found love there - well, that's his story, isn't it?  Oops, Christine is back - gotta run!
