When I’m not writing… with Lisa Desrochers! + Giveaway

I am extremely happy to welcome Lisa Desrochers in my Den today!

Debut author of Personal Demons (releasing September 14th, 2010), she very generously accepted my offer to pry into her life learn more about her.

Please welcome her warmly!

notwriting

A “when I’m not writing” post is a little bit of a challenge for me, because, any spare moment I get, I’m writing. I’ve actually had my laptop surgically implanted into my thighs, which makes doing anything but writing nearly impossible.

No, that’s a lie. My laptop hasn’t become part of my physical body…yet. But it’s not out of the question for the future.

Honestly, I don’t spend much time doing “sports” but I love to hike and camp. I live very close to Yosemite so we hike here:

And on a recent camping trip through Oregon and Washington, we hiked here:

Here:

And here =):

My kids are always on the move and I’m the taxi, so I spend time here:

And here:

I lecture internationally on a variety of healthcare topics, so I’ve spent time here:

And here:

When I’m home I like to do this:

These are what I just finished:

(Yes, that’s my book in there. Just re-read the proof for typos.)

And these are what’s next on tap:

Other than that, I do this:

And this:

That’s it in a nutshell. The glamorous (or not) life of a writer.

Wow thank you so much Lisa for sharing your photo album with us! I’m specially jealous of this picture right under Sydney!

Here a bit more about Lisa’s book, Personal Demons

Personal DemonsFrannie Cavanaugh has always been a bit of a loner. She's spent years keeping everyone at a distance, even her closest friends. That is, until Luc Cain enrolls in her school. He's hot, sarcastic, and dangerous—and Frannie can't seem to stay away.

What she doesn't know is that Luc is on a mission. Because Frannie isn't exactly ordinary. She possesses a skill so unique that the king of Hell himself has taken notice, and he's sent Luc to claim Frannie's soul. It should be easy: All he has to do is get her to sin, and Luc is as tempting as they come.

Unfortunately for Luc, Heaven has other plans, and he's just started making progress when the angel Gabriel shows up. Gabe will do anything to keep Luc from getting what he came for, and his angelic charm might just be enough to keep Frannie on the right path.

It isn't long before Luc and Gabe find themselves fighting for more than just Frannie's soul. But if Luc fails to win her over, there will be Hell to pay . . . for all of them.

Here’s two of the trailers for the book, you can stop by Lisa’s blog if you wanna see the other ones!

  18. Wow! Thanks for all the kind words. To answer the questions:
Jessy--That pic is Cinque Terre, Italy. If you ever get to Italy, don't miss it! I've already decided I'm retiring there. =)

Sweet Vernal Zephyr--Yes, really! Forks. We actually had to drive through it to get to the rain forest in Olympic National Park. It's totally Twilight (very commercial), but nothing how SM describes it. =)
