As all of you hardcore fans know, Sherrilyn’s latest book, No Mercy, releases today! To celebrate the occasion, I have 1 copy to giveaway to a lucky reader, but before getting into the details, here’s more info about the book!
Live fast, fight hard and if you have to die then take as many of your enemies with you as you can. That is the Amazon credo and it was one Samia lived and died by. Now in contemporary New Orleans, the immortal Amazon warrior is about to learn that there’s a worse evil coming to slaughter mankind than she’s ever faced before.
Shapeshifter Dev Peltier has stood guard at the front of Sanctuary for almost two hundred years and in that time, he’s seen it all. Or so he thought. Now their enemies have discovered a new source of power- one that makes a mockery of anything faced to date.
The war is on and Dev and Sam are guarding ground zero. But in order to win, they will have to break the most cardinal of all rules and pray it doesn’t unravel the universe as we know it.
It does sound pretty awesome!
I have a confession and a question for you guys. I admit it, I’ve never read any of Sherrilyn’s books *shame on me*, do you think I can read No Mercy without having read the previous books? Or would I be completely at loss?
------------------------------
Now onto the giveaway!
Many a Kenyon fan has said that that they have found sanctuary in her books throughout the years. Her fans also know about The Sanctuary, the fictional New Orleans bar in the Dark-Hunter world. Avid readers will often say that books provide a great retreat…that the release of a new book from a favorite author can make one’s day…that there’s nothing better than suspending disbelief and allowing oneself to sink into a storyline or a fantasy world.
The Publishers wants to know what’s your sanctuary? Perhaps it’s playing Rock Band on Xbox or settling into an episode of Star Trek. Perhaps you love spin class or heading to the park to sketch.
So my question is, what’s your sanctuary and why.
Randomly selected readers will receive a copy of NO MERCY.
To enter, answer the question in a comment with a way to contact you (if your email is in your google profile, it’s ok)
Open to US & Canada only
Ends September 21st, 2010.
My room is my sanctuary. I like to crawl into bed with a good book or my computer, and just kind of hang out with myself. It's my safe place.

Hi Tynga,
ReplyDeleteI am a BIG Dark Hunter fan and I have read all of the books. I highly suggest you tackling this series! It is awesome!! I am afraid that picking up the series at this book would leave you highly confused about the world and the characters since the books have all built on the previous ones. As far as my sanctuary... it would have to be my favorite reading spot! I have a shaded swing in my yard that is my got-to spot for relaxation and escape. Thanks for the giveaway!!

My sanctuary is my library room. It is filled with my books and when I reread an old favourite it is like spending time with a good friend. And I have lots of books that I like to reread.

My sanctuary is whatever book I find myself lost in. I love to read for escapism, and occasionally for learning. I'm not familiar with Kenyon's books, but am always looking for new-to-me authors to read.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the consideration

My sanctuary is my office because I have my desk and computer, and I'm surrounded by my many shelves of books, as well as all of the little things I've collected that make it my place to feel calm and comfortable.
ReplyDeleteWell, I don't think you would be TOO too lost, but quite possibly a little.
ReplyDeleteMy Sanctuary? Reading, of course; how can one not find sanctuary in delving into a world where you KNOW that good almost always will triumph over evil, love is the most powerful thing ever, and the people are usually funny, hot, and good people? lol
But I also find sanctuary while writing. For me, it is a way to find a small amount of control that I would never have in real life (not that things in my stories always work out how I want them to; usually my characers become rather... independent, lol!) but I also find comfort in what I do. I plot and plan and I know, no matter how bad things get in my story, that the ending WILL be happy. I get really close to my characters, I have to know them well to be able to write them, and I just find such... comfort and something soothing about sitting down at the end of the day to type out a few pages of a whole nother world.
So yeah. Writing would be my sanctuary. (And reading... but that's a given!)
I can't remember if my google profile has my email or not, so here it is: bibliocrazed@gmail.com

I love to write. I couldn't imagine not writing and don't know what I did before I found that love. I also play Call of Duty on the PS3 to blow off steam. So my sanctuary would be my living room with both my laptop and a controller within reach.

my sanctuary is anywhere I am alone with a book. Now that the weather is getting cooler I will be on the front porch swing (alone) reading .
ReplyDeleteI haven't read any of Kenyon's books yet either. I have the first one in my TBR pile though.
Hi Tynga! I love this series (not just b/c it's set in New Orleans, LOL!) and have been looking forward to Dev's story.
ReplyDeleteI think if you haven't read the other books you *could* read this one but I don't think you'd really get a feel for the worldbuilding and other characters. It's a great series, you should give it a go!
Oh - and it's funny you asked about Sanctuary, hubs and I had this discussion over the weekend - my sanctuary is my books. It's a quick escape from the stress in life :)

Music is my sanctuary, with books and the gym coming up as a close second.
ReplyDeleteHonestly, Tynga you could probably read this book without missing too much. I've only read the first 2 in this series and even had I not read them in order I would have been able to follow what's going on.
Thanks for the contest! And I hope you do start the series and read this book :) It's a great series!

My sanctuary is my craft room/office. I crank up the music (heavy metal/hard rock) and can forget about my stress. Reading does it too, but that's usually done in my chaise or on my porch :)
ReplyDeleteMy sanctuary is a hot bath with a book and a cold drink. Everyone knows to leave me alone when I am in the tub so I can relax.

I know this is so lame and so cliche, but my sanctuary is IN books! I usually read in bed at night, but seriously, that is what I do to GET AWAY. Plus, it helps shut down my mind and sleep easier. :)

My sanctuary would be the living room late at night, everyone else tucked in bed. I love to listen to my audiobooks while wandering around the place, or reading on the sofa, my legs up in the air, propped against the wall. =D
ReplyDeleteI've only read the first two books in the series, but the promise of Acheron's book has me determined to continue :)

To answer your questions, I would think that would be obvious. Reading is my sanctuary, it allows me to go somewhere else, be someone else, feel something else for a short period of time.
My bedroom is my sanctuary. When I need a little me time, I hideaway in my room with my laptop or a book.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the great giveaway. I've read all of the Dark Hunter novels except this last one.

My sanctuary is going to my room at night and reading before I go to bed. It's so nice and relaxing for me.
ReplyDeleteI am a big dark hunter fan - fell in love with the series within the first chapter of book 1 ;).
ReplyDeleteMy sanctuary would be my back porch (I enjoy the peace and quiet found there) and also my bed (nothing like snuggling in with a good book at night until I'm to tired to keep my eyes open).

Gardening is my sanctuary. I am constantly outside pulling weeds, planting, digging up bad grass and replanting the good, watering, and just walking around my yard. I guess I have been out so much this summer I look like I have spent hours getting my suntan. lol But I got it free with my gardening. Of course my hands look like heck.
ReplyDeletemisskallie2000 at yahoo dot com
My Sanctuary is the library. I have a separate little corner towards the back that I always go to. I know the librarians, and I always pull my bean bag up over there and they're okay with it. :) It's secluded, and since the library is so quiet, it's a great place to read and let myself go without worrying about screaming babies or my mom nagging at me or my brother/sister-in-law fighting all the time.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the opportunity to win!

Hiya Tynga,
ReplyDeleteMy sanctuary is between the pages of a good book. There's nothing like the feeling of escaping the realities of life, and enjoying a good tome.

My bedroom, no doubt. Second would be my iPod, my best escape is through music.

My room is definitely my sanctuary or more specifically my laptop in my room. I tend to eat most of my meals in my room and read my books here but on my laptop is where I watch many of my favourite shows, talk to my friends who live far away from me and play on photoshop because I love to make graphics :)
ReplyDeleteYou can read a lot of the beginning Dark Hunter books out of order but the later ones are very woven together so I think you would be a bit lost if you started the series from No Mercy because a lot of new elements are being introduced into the story.

My sanctuary is this little niche I found at my local library--totally secluded, really comfy chair, and right by a window so the sun shines in. The perfect place to read a really good book. :) I'm pretty sure I've fallen asleep there a couple times, too. :)
