First stop, Rachel Vincent just revealed the UK covers of the Soul Screamers series. I really like them, I might even prefer them to the US ones, I’m not sure lol
they even respected the color scheme of the US covers, which is great! They will be available in 2011!

Up next, debut author Cynthia Hand, her release is scheduled for January 4th, 2011 !
In this first book of a thrilling trilogy about angels, one girl must choose between fulfilling her Purpose and following her heart.
Clara has known she was part–angel ever since she turned fourteen two years ago. But now she is finally getting visions of what her Purpose—a rite of passage for every part–angel—is to be, and it happens to involve a gorgeous guy. Of course, there is the raging forest fire surrounding them, too. When Clara’s Purpose leads her family to Wyoming, Clara finds the boy of her visions, Christian, but complicating her mission are her growing feelings for another guy, Tucker. As the day in her visions draws closer, Clara discovers that her Purpose may play into a larger struggle between angels and Black Wings—fallen angels who spread sadness and misery wherever they go. But when the fire erupts and both Christian and Tucker are in danger, who will she choose to save?
From debut novelist Cynthia Hand comes a riveting tale full of supernatural powers, forbidden romance, and the choice between fulfilling your destiny or following your heart.

Next stop is the fifth installment in Melissa Marr’s Wicked Lovely series (releasing Feb 22nd, 2011), how amazing is that cover?
The Summer King is missing; the Dark Court is bleeding; and a stranger walks the streets of Huntsdale, his presence signifying the deaths of powerful fey.
Aislinn tends the Summer Court, searching for her absent king and yearning for Seth. Torn between his new queen and his old love, Keenan works from afar to strengthen his court against the coming war. Donia longs for fiery passion even as she coolly readies the Winter Court for battle. And Seth, sworn brother of the Dark King and heir to the High Queen, is about to make a mistake that could cost his life.
Love, despair, and betrayal ignite the faery courts, and in the final conflict, some will win…and some will lose everything.
The exhilarating conclusion to Melissa Marr’s New York Times bestselling Wicked Lovely series will leave readers breathless.

YA debut novel by Sophie Jordan, I’m really excited about this book (releasing Sept 7th, 2010), and I love the dragon scales pattern on the girl’s face!
With her rare ability to breathe fire, Jacinda is special even among the draki—the descendants of dragons who can shift between human and dragon forms. But when Jacinda’s rebelliousness leads her family to flee into the human world, she struggles to adapt, even as her draki spirit fades. The one thing that revives it is Will, whose family hunts her kind. Jacinda can’t resist getting closer to him, even though she knows she’s risking not only her life but the draki’s most closely guarded secret.

Yvonne Navarro has written multiple books, including some Buffy books! but I had never hear of her before. Highborn (releasing Oct 26th, 2010) is the first book in the Dark Redemption series, and it promises to be great!
Brynna is a fallen angel trying to earn redemption. She’s escaped Hell and come to Earth, but Lucifer’s deadliest hunters are hot on her trail. And they’re not the only ones who’d like to send her back where she came from. Detective Eran Redmond needs Brynna to help find a serial killer who is terrifying Chicago…and that means battling her own very dangerous kind. She’s also got a very human problem: dealing with a stubborn, sexy cop she knows better than to get involved with.
Staying alive long enough to earn a shot at Heaven will mean breaking some major rules in the mortal world, as she learns just how complicated and wonderful being human can be. With so much stacked against her, even Brynna has to wonder if she’s crazy. But she’s not giving in without a fight. Not a chance in Hell….

I haven’t been able to find much of a description for this book. All we know as of now is that it will be released on March 15, 2011 and this short description:
When Jill, a competitive high school fencer, goes with her family on vacation to the Bahamas, she is magically transported to an early eighteenth century pirate ship in the middle of the ocean.
You’ll agree with me though, even with so many words it does sound amazing!

Our next stop is Tempestuous, the third book in the Wondrous Strange series (releasing Dec 21st, 2010), by Lesley Livingston.
Unfortunately I couldn’t find any description for that title, not even a tiny little one. I guess we’ll have to be patient!

The Gathering (April 12th, 2011) is the first book in the Darkness Rising trilogy. It is set in the same universe as The Darkest Powers Trilogy, and so I am very excited for this title!
Maya lives in a small medical-research town on Vancouver Island. How small? You can’t find it on the map. It has less than two-hundred people, and her school has only sixty-eight students—for every grade from kindergarten to twelve.
Now, strange things are happening in this claustrophobic town, and Maya's determined to get to the bottom of them. First, the captain of the swim team drowns mysteriously in the middle of a calm lake. A year later, mountain lions start appearing around Maya's home, and they won’t go away. Her best friend, Daniel, starts experiencing "bad vibes" about certain people and things. It doesn't help that the new bad boy in town, Rafe, has a dangerous secret—and he's interested in one special part of Maya's anatomy: Her paw-print birthmark.

The Candidates, first book in the Delcroix Academy series, by debut author Inara Scott will release on August 24, 2010. This book is about a telekinetic young girl and I can wait to read her story!
Dancia Lewis is far from popular. And that's not just because of her average grades or her less-than-glamorous wardrobe. In fact, Dancia's mediocrity is a welcome cover for her secret: whenever she sees a person threatening someone she cares about, things just...happen. Cars skid. Structures collapse. Usually someone gets hurt. So Dancia does everything possible to avoid getting close to anyone, believing this way she can suppress her powers and keep them hidden. But when recruiters from the prestigious Delcroix Academy show up in her living room to offer her a full scholarship, Dancia's days of living under the radar may be over. Only, Delcroix is a school for diplomats' kids and child geniuses--not B students with uncontrollable telekinetic tendencies. So why are they treating Dancia like she's special? Even the hottest guy on campus seems to be going out of his way to make Dancia feel welcome. And then there's her mysterious new friend Jack, who can't stay out of trouble. He suspects something dangerous is going on at the Academy and wants Dancia to help him figure out what. But Dancia isn't convinced. She hopes that maybe the recruiters know more about her "gift" than they're letting on. Maybe they can help her understand how to use it...But not even Dancia could have imagined what awaits her behind the gates of Delcroix Academy.

ReplyDeleteOh man these all sound so great I'm excited for them all!
ReplyDeleteWow, those are some very intense covers. I really like the Unearthly cover, I would love that flower tattooed on me from Darkest Mercy, I also love the dragon scales on her face in Firelight, But I have to say here, I wish the cover of Highborn had darker eyebrows - it bugs me, with her skin color (and even with that brown hair) girl needs some darker and maybe thick eyebrows. Sorry. It bugged me THAT much.
ReplyDeleteCarrie Vaughn - is one of the best writers ever. Have you seen the cover to Apple's Discord? Standalone adult fantasy by Carrie Vaughn. The description to her new YA book is compelling.
And Kelley Armstrong - love how her 4th cover has a new look to go with the change of focus in her 4th book.
Great covers!
