"When I'm not writing" with Mia Hoddell + giveaway!

Hi everyone, I’m Mia and I write YA romances that normally have some kind of paranormal/supernatural element in them. Although I love writing and I would gladly spend all day doing it there are times when it gets too much and I need a break from staring at a screen full of words. When this happens and I am not in the mood to read I love wandering off with my camera to take some pictures.

I love being able to get out of the house and because I live in the countryside it’s great for just going on peaceful walks through the orchards and fields. My favourite time has to be spring though as the apple blossom in the orchards is beautiful to look at and smells incredible. Getting out of the house helps me to clear my head and develop storylines as well because the setting is so quiet and isolated.

Not only is photography great at letting me get some fresh air but I also love the editing side of it and can spend hours manipulating images on my computer. I enjoy being able to change colours in an image and experiment with different techniques that are either digital or physical such as using inks. In general I love anything that is creative though.

As well as photography I love travelling, although I have only been to a few places at the moment. I am only eighteen though so I am hoping to travel a bit more as time goes on. A few places I have been to so far are the Bahamas, Florida, Portugal, France, Germany, Belgium and other cities in the UK. Travelling gives me great opportunities to photograph new things as well, such as the Christmas Markets in Germany or proper beaches in the Bahamas rather than the ones in the UK.
