I suppose I’m blessed because I have a lot of interests. My biggest problem is finding time to sandwich them all in. Hopefully, by the time you’re done reading this you won’t roll your eyes and think my life is incredibly boring.

At the top of the list is exercise. I do something every day and it’s seasonal. For example, there’s the daily dog walk. In summer, it’s a four or five mile trail run. Longer on weekends. In winter, we take the poochies cross-country skiing for an hour or two. I also like to downhill ski in the winter and backpack/climb year round. Most days, I’d say between two and four hours gets allocated to something physical. I also do resistance training in the gym a couple of days a week.

There are a host of writing-related tasks that tend to be real time hogs. The biggest one is marketing. I could spend ten hours a day marketing. I limit myself to one, sometimes two. There are also marketing-related tasks like writing blog posts, visiting blogs where I have posts up, and managing my own blog and website. I’m not an html whiz, so updating my website sometimes takes me a while if I can’t get the coding to cooperate.

On the domestic front, I’ve always enjoyed cooking and baking, but I don’t do as much as I used to now there are just the two of us at home. I also like to sew, but I can’t even remember the last sewing project I did that went beyond mending. I don’t have the time.

I’m a psychologist by trade. My preference is depth work using dreams as a vehicle. I’ve had Jungian training, but have an eclectic approach. Once upon a time, I had a full time private practice. Now I see a few clients with no plans to expand that.

Lastly, I enjoy travel. Last summer we spent a month in the UK. We climbed Ben Nevis in Scotland. It’s the highest point in the UK. Then we did Wainwright’s Coast to Coast walk across Northern England. It was 190 miles and took a couple of weeks. It was actually much harder than I’d anticipated because it rained constantly. I was grateful for my gaiters. They kept the mud out of my boots! Next summer, we’re contemplating Mongolia. There are lots of places in the world I haven’t seen. A limiting factor is our dogs. I don’t like leaving them for that long, but we have a wonderful dog nanny who stays at our house.

I suppose that’s close to it. I’m sure all of you have jobs. What do you like to do when you’re not working? Have you thought about an ideal balance between work and leisure time? If so, what did you come up with? I’d like to know.

Here's the scoop A TIME FOR EVERYTHING:

A Time for EverythingSiobhan Macquire’s fortune has attracted a string of men who are out to drain her for everything they can get. Her last boyfriend was no exception. Furious at being used—again—she goes for a walk in the Highlands.

With the weather worsening, she wanders alone for hours. She’s soaking wet and starting to get scared when someone calls out to her. A striking-looking man emerges from the mist. Except there’s something wrong. His kilt is way too long and he talks with an archaic accent. Siobhan soon finds herself not only lost in the countryside but also in time.

Jenn

Born and raised in the Toronto area, Jenn moved to St. John's, Newfoundland, eight years ago for school. She's still in school (thankfully on another degree!), now trapped in her dissertation. When she's not dissertating, which happens more often than it should, Jenn spends her time reading, watching movies, playing volleyball, travelling, and enjoying the local music scene. Her latest addictions: yoga and Almond Crunch cereal.

  2. If we pay attention to God's creation, it is forecasting great changes and most of it will not be to our liking! But I guess what upsets me the most is the arrogance of man, who thinks that he can improve on what God brought forth out of His supremacy and sovereignty
    coach certification.
