FF–Giveaway: Spellbound by Kelley Armstrong & Character Cast

RRHfinalsmall

Kelley Armstrong is a super amazing Canadian author so I really wanted her to be part of this event. Unfortunately, her schedule is way to busy to participate (gotta write those books we love so much!), So I invited my good friend Lucy, who is a huge fan of the series, to cast Spell Bound’s characters for us! Please welcome her warmly!

-----------------------

Hello everyone!

I would like to take this opportunity to thank Tynga for having me here today! I am so excited to be invited to guest post a character casting for my favorite series, The Women of the Otherworld by Kelley Armstrong!

For those who have not yet read the series,
Women of the Otherworld is a MUST READ!!!

Each novel alternates narrator, keeping you on your toes and in suspense as to what will happen next! The first two novels begin with Elena Michaels, the only female werewolf, a witch named Paige Winterbourne for the following two, half-demon Eve Levine for Haunted, back to Elena for Broken, necromancer Jaime Vagas for No Humans Involved, half-demon Hope Adams for Personal Demon, a human named Robyn Peltier for Living with the Dead, back to Elena for Frostbitten, and finally a young witch named Savannah for Waking the Witch & Spell Bound.

Books:

                                                                                         Bitten  | No Humans Involved
                                                                                        Stolen  | Personal Demon
Dime Store Magic   | Living with the Dead
                                                                   Industrial Magic  | Frostbitten
                                                                                   Haunted  | Waking the Witch
                                                                                             Spell Bound

Otherworld Novellas:

know who you would choose for each of the characters!

Happy reading everyone! J

Random House Canada was nice enough to offer us one (1) copy of Spell Bound, Kelley’s latest release, to giveaway!

spellboundspellbound2

Savannah Levine is in terrible danger, and for once she’s powerless to help herself. At the conclusion of Waking the Witch, Savannah swore that she would give up her powers if it would help a young girl. Little did she know that someone would take her up on that promise.

And now, witch hunting assassins, necromancers, half-demons, and rogue witches all seem to be after her. The threat is not just for Savannah; every member of the Otherworld might be at risk. While most of her fellow supernaturals are circling the wagons at a gathering of the council in Miami, Savannah is caught on the road, isolated from those who can protect her and unable to use her vast spell casting talent, the thing she counts on most. In a story that will change the shape of the Otherworld forever, Spell Bound gathers Elena, Clay, Paige, Lucas, Jaime, Hope, and others, who soon learn that the greatest threat to supernaturals just may come from within.

  11. I have an incredibly hard time trying to place actors as the characters I read in books. For me there is never an actor/actress that I think meets up my standards as the character, in appearance and behavior. Don't know why, it is what it is with me. I wish I could think of someone but my brain never works like that. Which is why I am also terrible to be with when I see a movie adaptation of one of my fave books!

  16. I have read all of the books in this series (including the Men of the Otherworld). I thought the casting was perfect, except maybe Paige. However, I am not entirely sure who would be better. Maybe Gennifer Godwin? I would have never thought of Angelina either, but she is perfect. I loved the males too. Paul Walker was especially a great choice - exactly as I pictured Kristoff.

None of those are how I imagine the characters to be honest, but I like that you showed us your cast, it's interesting to see how we all view characters differently. :)

  45. Very good choices!!
I agree with them, but I also think for Elena that Jessica Biel looks good. It's not excatly how I see her though. She's thin but still strong looking. She can kick butt and she's beautiful.
    And for Clay.. that's hard.
Although Josh Holloway is too old to play him, I see him sort of that way. The rugged, handsome blonde were. And although Alex Pettyfer is too young... I see him like him also. Both would be great! :)

  51. I loved reading your character cast list. It is sometimes hard for me to think of who would play a character from one of my favorite books because no one seems to measure up. I would have never thought of Angelina Jolie as Eve but she does fit. I see Alexis Bledel as Savannah more than Vanessa Huggens though and I kind of see Jeremy different also but can't decide who. I really enjoyed thinking about all the characters and who I would cast. Thanks. I would love to win a copy of Spellbound as I have not gotten it yet, this series is great and I am sad that there is only one more book coming out but I look forward to seeing what else Kelley Armstrong comes up with. She is one of my favorite authors.

  55. I've only read the books that had Elena as the narrator. So I'd say your picks for Elena and Clayton are dead-on. And from what I remember of the vampire, Rachelle Lefevre fits like a glove. Plus she's mastered the slinky, sexy vampiress.

  56. I'll probably have bought Spellbound before the end of the giveaway (I don't think I can hold out that long) so don't enter me. I like most of your picks but Page and Lucas aren't anything like I pictured, and I though Adam was meant to be blonde and Karl kinda older (atleast I thought so, but maybe with the whole werewolf thing he's still meant to look really young?). Still, great post and I love, love, love this series!

  84. I've read all the way up to Waking the Witch and am one of the biggest fans of Armstrong around! (And she's Canadian, too!) I really like your choices for Karl, Savannah and Adam, although I think Hope should be Dilshad Vadsaria.

Thanks for the giveaway! I have an extra entry below!

  86. This is one series I have tried not to pick actors for, mainly because I find it to be too daunting! However, I love all of the choices that you have made! Wouldn't it be awesome for this to be picked up for as a TV series like The Vampire Diaries?

Thanks so much for the giveaway!

  89. Love this series!!! :)

Please dont' enter me to win, I just finished my copy of the book... LOL Loved it!

Great casting choices... I've always pictured Karl darker and older, maybe like Goran Visnak (Remember from ER?)

    Fun blog!

  90. Some of those are good picks but the ones chosen for Karl & Jamie have to be older. Especially Karl because of his age difference to Hope!

  91. I think Kate Beckinsale would make a good Eve.

  92. I haven't had a chance to read the series yet, so I wouldn't know how accurate the casting would be in terms of characters, but I have to say that I like many of your choices!

  94. I love this series and I think Rachel Nichols as she was a Scarlet in GI Joe would be ideal as Jaime Vargas.

  96. I think the characters you chose were really good! I could definitely see some of them looking like that.

I've read some of the series so far and I really enjoy them :)

  97. I loved your picks, especially for Paige. I guess I've never really given much thought to real-life people in these (or any other)roles. Might be because I'm kinda clueless in remembering people's names? :P

  106. Great post I always love to see who readers can picture playing the characters :-)

I agree with your choices for Cassandra and Clayton, however I don't know why but despite Kelly Armstrong describing Elena as having pale blond hair, I always imagine her with jet black or deep brown hair and warm intense brown eyes. For me the name Elena sounds too excotic and Latina, so I always picture her in my mind with tanned skin and chocolate eyes and very dark hair :-D

Thank youo for the fantastic giveaway!

  107. To be honest, none of those images match the pictures of the characters have in my mind. They don't resemble any actors or actresses, they are unique.
