  2. :) I cannot wait to read Firelight, it's in my pile of books right now!

Oh, let us hope that this is your last belly update (because really, who wants to drag on a pregnancy?!)! I agree, she must be far too comfy to leave. That might be a sign for her attitude in the coming years... You may have to physically kick her out of the house after highschool. LOL. :D

I hope you have a wonderful weekend--love this new meme!

    Enjoy!

  5. Hi Tynga! It's so nice to meet you (and your belly, ha!) and I just became a follower of your blog. I'm so glad you are starting this feature and I want to participate, but I have a question. Could I, for example, rename it a bit, change the banner, and say that it was inspired by you? The reason is that I'm an eBook reader type of person, so when I was doing IMM I called it "On MyiPad" since it was more appropriate to the way I actually receive my books.

    1. JJ, Red House Books has a meme called On My Reader that is all about what ebooks you got, if you want to check it out. http://redhousebooks.blogspot.ca/2012/04/on-my-reader-11-april-28-2012.html

  8. I think Stacking the Shelves is a great idea, I like the way you went about it and I'll definitely be checking it out every week, just like I have with your vlogs for quite some time. Hope the baby is born by now, or at least very soon. Good luck!

  9. Loving this new meme :) I'm like you, I love sharing the books I get and was disappointed about the whole drama.. Definitely participating as well! Mine will go up tomorrow once my "birthday weekend" is over.. lol..

I actually kinda like that there's no Mr Linky... I feel it gets a little competitive sometimes, so it's refreshing to discover links via comments! Lets you get to know the people a bit more :)

  10. I loved kitty in the background of your blog.
Sending you good thoughts and wishing you an easy delivery.

    ReplyDelete
  11. I'm sorry, I'm confused. Because you dislike plagiarism you decided to plagiarize someone's meme? You're taking someone else's meme, changing the name and passing it off as your own?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Kristi did not create In My Mailbox. You can ask her yourself and she'll tell you she was "inspired" by another bloggers meme a long time ago and decided to do it herself.

      Delete
    2. She may not have created it, but she did adapt it to what she wanted and credited the original blogger.

      Delete
    3. Kristi didn't "create" the idea of sharing what you got with everyone. There actually are other "mailbox"-type memes as well.

      Delete
    4. Even if she adapted the idea I don't feel the need to credit her for something that was not hers originally.

      Delete
    5. Sooooo... let me get this straight. It was wrong for Kristi to plagiarize a blog helping post that can be found in 6 million other places but it's okay for you to plagiarize IMM because other people have mailbox type posts? So either you're saying what Kristi did was okay, or that it's only okay if you do it. This is so unbelievably hypocritical.I don't know how anyone could justify it!

      Delete
    6. Just because Kristi has the most famously known mailbox meme out there it doesn't mean she created the concept. There are all kind of mailbox/haul post and vlogs for a lot of different subject such has beauty products, fashion, jewelry. Since there is so much interest, I do plan to do an official launch post and mention Kristi and Alea though.

  12. I think this is a great idea, but I do think that TSS should be credited here, considering it's her meme retitled. I did participate, though: StS

  13. I loved "Men of the Otherworld"! It was great to read the back stories of the male characters (Clay, Jeremy, etc). I hope you love it too!

That was very sweet of Cindy to send you the baby goodies! So cute!

    ReplyDelete
  14. Oh awesome!! I need to get the Sookie book this week as well. Even though I've been let down a tad with the last few books, I'm keeping some faith that the series will end well!

My book haul or whatever to call it now will be up tomorrow, so be sure to stop by then!

    Have a GREAT weekend!

  15. I've seen the "Men of the Otherworld" pop up a couple of time around blog-land in the last few weeks. I'll have to check it out!

Hopefully all goes well with you and the baby :) Can't wait for updates once the little one arrives.

    Have a great weekend.

  18. Hi Tynga. Love the name! I have been thinking carefully about what I want to do. I think it makes more sense for me to participate with you (supporting my fellow Canadian book bloggers!) but I wasn't planning on doing one this week at all so maybe I'll see next Saturday. I wish you luck with your baby and labour. 40 weeks. I hope you get to meet her soon :D

    1. Hi again Tynga. Seems I don't need another week of thinking about this afterall. I've decided not to participate in any IMM or similar meme anymore. Instead I'll include my new books in a post that is similar to monthly recaps on other blogs but with a focus on all things book related going on in my (personal) life. If you are curious about what I'm babbling about you can drop by my blog the first weekend of May. I will continue to look forward to reading/watching all IMM and STS posts on my friends book blogs.

  19. I love your new meme, and I'll be following you here :-)

Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy. I was over with both of mine, my first came at 42 weeks and my second at 41 and a half weeks. I chose not to be induced (that's a rough ride) and let they came when they wanted... it was bliss!! 4hours with my first, 30 minutes with my second, I nearly had him in my back garden lol!

  20. I wasn't participating in IMM, but I'm doing this :)Best wishes for you and the baby, my kid was a lazy little guy who liked it too much in there!

  21. Thanks for coming up with the awesome alternative! And great books this week. I took advantage of a couple deal from the Book Depository as well, and they arrived as I was putting my post together.

  23. Making the switch - not because of the drama (because I choose not to get involved with it), but switching as I love supporting my fellow Canadians! Thanks for bringing this new version of sharing our bookish love with everyone. AND I really hope that your little one is here soon (off to see if I've missed a post in which you mention she is here). ;)

I'm considering joining Stacking the Shelves, it sounds awesome but I'm still trying to sort out what I want to do. I do think this meme should credit Kristi and IMM as inspiring this meme since it was created to replace it and serves the EXACT same purpose. I hope it's just an oversight for this week.

  98. Great meme, Tynga & Stephanie :-) I decided to do my own thing, but will definitely be checking in every week on my favorite people, you two included!

I just bought A Temptation of Angels a week or two ago, and cannot wait to read it. Michelle Zink is absolutely amazing and gives the best hugs :-) I _love_ that you bought Deadlocked. I need to buy it SOON!

If you'd like to stop by my own spin-off of IMM/STS, here's the link: http://www.blookgirl.com/book-blog/mission-acquired/147-april-28-2012
