Stacking the Shelves

Stacking The Shelves is all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts and of course ebooks!

Happy weekend everyone! I hope your weekend is starting off better than mine. I'm still stuck with mounds of snow and awful freezing rain. But on to the good stuff. I added a few new books to my shelves this week and here they are.

sts 102

Purchased

The Heist by Janet Evanovich and Lee Goldberg

Hit List by Laurel K. Hamilton

Paper Towns by John Green

Under the Dome, Part 1 by Stephen King

Under the Dome, Part 2 by Stephen King

Library

Bewitched, Bothered and Biscotti by Bailey Cates

——————

I purchased Paper Town on a whim because I had just heard the news that it will be made into a film. This will be my first John Green book, and I'm anxious to see what it's all about. I also made the decision to purchase Under the Dome, in anticipation to season 2 of the TV show this summer. Based on the same concept, I've heard the book and the TV show are a little bit different from one another so I'm really looking forward to making comparisons.

What did you add to your shelves this week?

  6. I enjoyed Paper Towns. It was a fun teen angst quest kind of book. It didn't leave me with as many tears as some of his other stuff.

  8. Great haul of books! Love Paper Towns, one of my favorite John Green books and Under the Dome which I read long before the television show, looks much more manageable in two books rather than the huge hardcover I read! Enjoy your new books and happy reading :)

  9. I loved Paper Towns, only second the TFioS of course. Under The Dome I thought felt completely different from the series. It's good, but you'll notice the discrepancies. Awesome haul.

  11. Why is the link not opening until the 11th? Next Friday? Not giving us any time to visit other blogs before next Saturday's post goes up.

  17. Paper Towns will be my first John Green book so I'm going in with no expectations

  18. Ok. I'm glad I'm not the only one that hasn't read a John Green. I thought I might give it a try since so many people rave about his books.

  19. I took the Hardcover out from the library one time, but I was daunted by it's size. Two paperbacks are more manageable. I'm about a quarter through part 1.

  20. I'm really looking forward to comparing. Already, about a quarter into part 1, everything feel different.

  21. The show is definitely epic. I'm glad they decided on a 2nd season. Check this out. I found it hilarious! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sVNCz6DePAQ

  22. I tried reading it in Hardcover from the library. Didn't work. I was just so heavy! I like reading from paperback better anyways and I've read about a quarter of part 1 already so I think it is more manageable. And this way, the book actually fits in my purse! lol
