Waiting on Wednesday - Shadowland by Alyson Noel

My pick this week is..
Shadowland by Alyson Noel

I would like to wait until it releases in paperback, but I'm very impatient so I might buy the hardcover anyway ^^
Am I the only one bothered when your series are hald PB and half HC?
It irrtates me =P
I wished they would release both HC and PB at same time so we can choose which ever we prefer.

So enough with the whinning, here's Shadowland Description:

Ever and Damen have traveled through countless past lives—and fought off the world's darkest enemies—so they could be together forever. But just as their long-awaited destiny is finally within reach, a powerful curse falls upon Damen...one that could destroy everything. Now a single touch of their hands or a soft brush of their lips could mean sudden death—plunging Damen into a bleak afterlife in the Shadowland, an eternal abyss for lost souls. Desperate to break the curse and save Damen, Ever immerses herself in magick—and gets help from an unexpected source...
Jude Knight. Although she and Jude have only just met, he feels startlingly familiar. Despite her fierce loyalty to Damen, Ever is drawn to Jude, a green-eyed golden boy with magical talents and a mysterious past. She's always believed Damen to be her soul mate and one true love—and she still believes it to be true. But as Damen pulls away to save them from the darkness inhabiting his soul, Ever's connection with Jude grows stronger—and tests her love for Damen like never before...

  1. I like the cover. Usually, when a book I want is only available in HC, I'll request it from my library. If I like the book, I'll buy it in PB.

  5. Nope, not me. I'll read it only if I win a copy or someone sends me one.

Not a fan of this series but I'd be willing to sit through another terrible read just to see if this author can redeem herself in my eyes.

  10. Why are they making this one hardcover? I guess the publisher figured they could make more money that way. But yeah... I hate having half a set of books in one format and half in another.

But that won't be a problem here, because I have no intention of reading any more of this series. I will be interested in reading the reviews, though.

And no matter what my feelings are about the actual story, I still love this book cover.

  11. I totally agree about half HC and half PB. I myself like PBs.

I haven't even read Evermore and I want this one lol I'll be getting to Evermore sometime soon.

  12. I am picky too & have to have the same HC or PB for a series, lol.

I need to start off with Evermore 1st then I'll run through the series, maybe it'll all be in PB by then ;)

  13. I have no problem paying for YA hardcovers because they're reasonable, but adult hardcovers can be over $26 which is a little ridiculous.

I also get a little annoyed when a book in the middle of a series becomes hardcover out of nowhere. I understand that it's awesome for an author, but I hate having the inconsistency in my bookshelf. I know I should wait for the paperback since I already have so many books to read, but I can't help but buy books I'm really excited for when they first come out.

  15. See, you aren't the only one who hates it a series is half paperbacks and half hardcovers! I agree with Mary's suggestion to borrow it from the library, then buy it when it comes out in paperback. That way, everything matches. Yea, I'm a little compulsive that way. *L*

  16. This reminds me, I must read Blue Moon and then get hold of this one when it comes out.

  17. I wish paperbacks and hardbacks released at the same time too. I love how all the Immortals book covers have a colour scheme and the same font and location of font. Shadowland's cover looks amazing
